Bernstein has his cause and effect backwards.
It's not Trump's actions that destabilized the USA; it was the left's refusal to accept the results of the election and their continuous attacks on Trump that are undermining the confidence in the government.
Bernstein says that it's Trump's actions, but Trump's actions are really reactions to the Democrats frenzy over Hillary Clinton losing the election.

We're at the point where some people will have to spend their freshman year in a local community college, waiting to transfer to their university of choice in their sophomore year as that school scrambles to fill up the class after diversity admissions drop out at the end of the first year.
