Pompeo: Idea that Trump is national security threat ‘absolutely ludicrous’
Fox news ^ | Adam Shaw

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Saturday said that the idea that President Trump was a threat to national security was “absolutely ludicrous” after the New York Times reported that the FBI launched an investigation into whether Trump posed such a threat. “I’m not going to comment on New York Times stories but I’ll certainly say this: The notion that President Trump is a threat to American national security is absolutely ludicrous,” Pompeo said on CBS’ "Face the Nation” in an interview to be aired Sunday....{snip} The timing of the investigation raises questions as both Comey and FBI lawyer Lisa Page told House investigators last year that by the time the FBI director was fired and special counsel appointed, there was no hard evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin....{snip} John Dowd, the president’s attorney on special counsel matters, said the Times story is “an unwitting disclosure and verification of the utter corruption of their oaths by Comey and his colleagues to undermine the free election of the President of the United States.” {snip} Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, said the story was "more evidence that FBI leaders actually had no real evidence against the Trump team."

Socialism in America is a threat as well as Islam.

Obama was an actual cohorter with terrorists, and yet he wasn’t considered a national security threat.

I wonder - was it because he allowed Loral to sell missile technology to the Chinese? Or maybe because he sent a payment of $150 billion in cash to Iran without Congressional approval?

I have a question. If Trump is colluding with the Ruskies why did he cancel the “ Iranian Deal “ ? I don’t think the Ruskies would be happy about that.

I don’t speak for all Americans, but I get the sense that most are extremely tired of the BS and the media, and there will be a day when this evil will be dealt with.

The fact that Pompeo is responding to the absurd proposition that DJT is a national security threat is a win for the Ds. It says we're on defense. I would have refused to answer and instead go on the offense by pointing out that the Ds are in Puerto Rico vacationing w lobbyists while the government is in shutdown.

Baloney!!!!! Not saying anything ever in defense is simply handing the victory to the Dems. Ask Bush !!!!!! He tried to be “above it all” and we got Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Telling a Democrat plant posing as a media member that their question is dopey isn't being Bush, rather it's what Trump does every day. Rs should Never, EVER, accept the premise of a question that suggests DJT is a national security risk. Tell them it's an insulting question and pivot to offense.

The people claiming Trump is a national security threat ARE part and parcel to the national security threat.

That must mean they’re doing no good, instead of talking no good. May they reap what they sow.

Idea that Trump is national security threat would be ‘absolutely ludicrous’ if it were not itself a very serious national security threat.
