I am RC, not Orthodox, but I found the following statement strange:

So?! And Leningrad looked like it was going to stick for a lot longer than it did, before the restoration of "St. Petersburg". By ceding the name Constantinople, it implies that the Muslim occupation is legitimate. It wasn't so long ago that we recognized the Republic of China (Taiwan) as THE China. Some of us saw no advantage to legitimizing the Communist takeover. Heck, Britain could have given Hong Kong over to the R.O.C. on that principle!
