Reverse slut-shaming.
You do realize that these women depend on exactly that
Nothing pissed off a women more is went shes fishing with cheese and no one even nibbles the bait
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
Except that this isn’t about you; it’s about the not-inconsiderable number who can’t or won’t control themselves.
This is like telling me to stop dressing well so I don’t attract gold-diggers.
Well, sorta.
You see, I know many women who think this. Even those who are armed. If they are armed then they are not worried about being a victim, they are worried about killing another person. (Bravado aside, this is the way we should all think when carrying lethal force)
Statistically, it’s hard to ignore. Only women who open-carry don’t have this worry.
We still have a crisis in this country - We have a stark, frightening shortage of armed women. This only proves it.
My wife runs a clothing store. We have concluded a conspiracy theory: Women’s clothes simply do NOT allow gun carry. It’s very tough to put it all together. Even thigh rigs are so uncomfortable that women simply forget them day by day. I went through about a 100 holsters before I found one so comfy that I wear it without anything in it. It’s natural to carry now. Without a gun belt and a great holster, daily gun carry becomes a real drag. And if you’re a woman with the current choices of styles and clothes you’re pretty SOL. Really, the only solution is a western style gun belt. Cartridge slots and all.
If I were a woman I would make that my carry. Yes, I would gear up like Annie Oakley on a daily basis. Drop-leg holsters are the king of comfort and the emperor of making everyone around you being scared to a point of calling the police.
But as a woman ? Especially one with a child ? It would be the ultimate sign of.. Well... “don’t tread on me”
So yes, the author has reason to be concerned. She has the ability to cure all of her woes, and she will never, EVER explore any of those cures. She has chosen to be a victim and for that I agree with her - But I offer her utterly zero pity.
I join you.
I cannot articulate the anger I felt in 1998 when the famous feminist cynically and conveniently excused Bill Clinton with, “All men are dogs.”
What if we said, All women are...? (which I would not).
Yep - those of us with lots of that “Toxic Masculinity” are able to control ourselves by respecting the women who respect themselves and staying off those who act like they’re chum....
