If R.O. were really down with the cause and a true comrade, she would stop spreading dissent and give it up on the regular for the downtrodden proles she’s complaining about.

Well, sorta.
You see, I know many women who think this. Even those who are armed. If they are armed then they are not worried about being a victim, they are worried about killing another person. (Bravado aside, this is the way we should all think when carrying lethal force)
Statistically, it’s hard to ignore. Only women who open-carry don’t have this worry.
We still have a crisis in this country - We have a stark, frightening shortage of armed women. This only proves it.
My wife runs a clothing store. We have concluded a conspiracy theory: Women’s clothes simply do NOT allow gun carry. It’s very tough to put it all together. Even thigh rigs are so uncomfortable that women simply forget them day by day. I went through about a 100 holsters before I found one so comfy that I wear it without anything in it. It’s natural to carry now. Without a gun belt and a great holster, daily gun carry becomes a real drag. And if you’re a woman with the current choices of styles and clothes you’re pretty SOL. Really, the only solution is a western style gun belt. Cartridge slots and all.
If I were a woman I would make that my carry. Yes, I would gear up like Annie Oakley on a daily basis. Drop-leg holsters are the king of comfort and the emperor of making everyone around you being scared to a point of calling the police.
But as a woman ? Especially one with a child ? It would be the ultimate sign of.. Well... “don’t tread on me”
So yes, the author has reason to be concerned. She has the ability to cure all of her woes, and she will never, EVER explore any of those cures. She has chosen to be a victim and for that I agree with her - But I offer her utterly zero pity.
She'd be too scared to pick up the gun, much less actually fire it.

I love it when these type people say they don't have any issues, as they proceed to spell out to the world exactly what their issues are.

There are now a lot of holster purses on the market-I personally bought the wife a Browning for Christmas. She likes it OK but it’s way too big for the small Remington RM 380 she totes...
Just an idea: it might behoove your wife to start selling such in her clothing store-with first considering her clientele, location, etc. I am NOT a businessman, so...
Why don’t you just carry a gun?
To point up your post, my county, in West Central Texas, had 4 “violent” crimes in 2018 and 5 “property crimes”.
I’ve been here over a half a century and I’ve only heard of one rape.
Oh, don’t you worry about it ! We’re taking things in a direction soon.
The problem is that we don’t create the clothes. We only source them. There are plenty of sources for carry handbags and holsters. Competing is tough.
On our supply side, there aren’t great options. Even in survival stuff - People out there are already selling at the least profits I’ve ever seen. We were approved to resell 5.11 Tactical and we were getting prices that were higher than sellers on Ebay !
There is no profit margin, so there is no business. We’re still looking for that magic thing to tie it all together. I did get access to about 400 very, very high end knives though and I’m trying to work that deal out. Again, the profit margins aren’t that great but it’s a market edge (Pardon the pun) because 99.999999% of people are selling chinese garbage knives.
The other side of the equation is that 99.999999% of people are buying the cheapest garbage they can possibly find.
It’s no secret that retail / bargain sales are really tough these days.
On that note, she is carrying a CCW purse. It’s expensive and its... a damned purse. I could get a woman’s purse away in under a minute.
Try telling that to female runners. The clothes are form-fitting, and in the summertime, the shorts can be quite short.
Purse carry also introduces another interesting dilemma...
I have a 4 year old and a safe. I wear the pistol “Almost constantly”. The solution ? I installed a strong magnet in my closet, far away from her hands (She isn’t aware that it’s there). This way I can grab it quickly on the way out the door. But I even walk around the house with a gun on my hip. When I don’t, it’s in the safe or in the closet near the ceiling.
She’ll have to adapt a new habit. When she comes home the purse can no longer “just go on the coat rack”. Nay, it has to be treated like the weapon itself. A holster doesn’t have the same need.
So purse carry can often leave the firearm away from the person, which is a recipe for disaster whenever ANYONE (of any age) is around.
The “sexual assault” these women of the #metoo crowd “suffer” in liberal enclaves of America is a joke compared to what happens to their sisters in some areas of Minnesota, the UK, Sweden, Denmark and Germany at the hands of troglodyte Muslims. Are they ever going to stand up for the REAL victims?
Back in the olden days, if a woman was attacked,the attacker had to get through thick clothing, petticoats, corsets, whalebone stays and much more.
Meanwhile, the woman being attacked would be fighting back with several 10 inch long sharp hair pins shaped more like meat skewers, or she would pull out a derringer and....
Men are the victims of violent assault, robbery, murder much more than women are. Get real.
As the great Dave Chapple said:

Now can we repeal the 19th amendment?
In Western Europe the days of dressing like that have basically ended, as their new arrivals don’t approve of it.
