I do not doubt that he is a conservative. I just believe he has a near religious need to believe that the people geographically and ancestrally connected to him were the "good guys."
Nobody wants to believe the people they identify as "their side", was evil and tyrannical. They want to believe "their side" are the good guys, and the people whom they fought were the "bad guys."
I understand why he so strongly defends them, but it is irritating to read his constant spew of propaganda when one is no longer caught in that spell.
Having been "red pilled", it is no longer possible to give much credence to the efforts to cover up what Lincoln had done, and the reasons behind why he did it.

The fact is that nothing DiogenesLamp posts here is error free in terms of facts and none of it is reasonable in terms of analysis.
For example, like any good Marxist you tell us, "follow the money" and wail about "Northeastern power brokers" but without any legitimate references to show that any of that played more important roles than the actual words of people, at the time.
The fact is that whatever you post which is not just pure fantasy turns out to be projections from myths about allegations which are not solidly referenced.
Sure, for posters like jeffersondem, FLT-bird & others who were presumably born into the Lost Cause, we can at least understand where they're coming from, but not DiogenesLamp.
So what can replace a Lost Cause mother's milk?
I can only think of a wedding vow: "DL, will you have this woman, to love honor and obey her Lost Cause myths until death do you part?"
