If extraterrestrials are out there, odds are they're too clever to have been blindsided by global warming run amok.
Could it be that climate change is a universal menace?
A recent article in Forbes addresses the idea that the galaxy might be strewn with extinct alien civilizations, burned to a crisp by ferocious planetary warming. The idea is certainly intriguing, and has obvious relevance as a cautionary tale for us. But could it be true?
The article doesnt say these hypothetical societies died out thanks to an alien fondness for SUVs. Instead, the aliens are hypothesized to be the victims of a natural process - the aging of their home star - coupled with the bad luck of having no planet similar to Venus in their solar system.
The time scale for the suns brightening is on the order of a billion years, and for most stars even longer. And that suggests that this particular problem may not be high on any aliens list of worries. Stephen Kane, the University of California astronomer upon whose work the Forbes article is based, says we can expect some serious temperature oscillations much sooner.
Undoubtedly, there are many ways that alien societies might tank. But this one seems improbable. If our cosmic confreres are advanced enough to be our intellectual peers (or better), theyre clever enough to see the dangers of a star growing old, and do something about it.

Only one intelligent civilization to a galaxy...................
Depends on the liberal agenda de jour, apparently.
In approximately 4 Billion years, give or take a billion, the Sun will swell to become a Red Giant, growing outward to the orbits of Earth or Mars.
At that time, every living thing on Earth as well as the planet itself, will become nothing but dust, ash and gas from whence it all came......................THEN you can say we died of GLOBAL WARMING.......................
Wasn’t that the plot of the remake of “The Day the Earth Stood Still”?
Not specifically but something like that. They came to end the plague of humans, not save humans from themselves like in the original.
When a person has no principles, no understanding of science, and no memory or concern about what lies they told yesterday, then they just make up whatever new lie they require at the current moment.
aliens could attack Earth to end global warming.
Or interposing of effect and affect. It really chaps their a**.

A House resolution by concerned Dems to prevent this would never get passed those damn Republicans in the Senate.
Assuming these weren’t orignal civilizations that evolved on our own planet gazillions of years ago, we’d be talking about extraterrestrials that have some sort of method for moving about the Universe.
I’m down with that. But assuming that high state of technology, why do they keep crashing their space buggies when flying around Earth? Just wonderin’
Probably because we are so ass-backwards that humans are like on of those amazon tribes studied for the reason they haven’t been ‘contaminated’ but civilization.
So they are flying the old stuff that second rate researchers on a shoestring budget can afford- and isn’t multiple miles long, which would be pretty hard to hide (even if you had cloaking, you’d still be able to detect the gravity and other effects from a properly large vessel).
At least that’s what they told me, between rounds of ‘hide the probe’.
Really?
What exactly is to be done about a star growing old?
What are you going to do? Dump Jupiter in to the sun to give it a wee bit more hydrogen?

****
are you effin’ kidding me? I just watched the South Park Lord Xenu episode and I thought that was damn stupid but this takes the top spot..
Not to mention that around that time our galaxy, the Milky Way
is supposed to be just about colliding with the
Andromeda galaxy.
Hey Democrats, Climate Change Fanatics and Global Warming
kooks, we're all DOOMED! Oh, the humanity!
Quick, raise taxes and create two dozen federal agencies
to stop these disasters. And approve the Paris Accords now!
“Global warming” is bunk.

The answer is obvious!!!
1. Save all the DNA of every species and plant
2. Strip mine the earth and build a mass-driver + Orbital ring
3. Use the earth and moon and asteroid belt to build large O’Neil colonies by the BILLIONS, resurrect all the extinct animals using their DNA to clone them back to life. At this point the total colony land mass will be several THOUSAND times that of the earth.
4. Build a network of TRILLIONS of solar satellites to gather the sun’s energy and use it for “Stellar Lifting”
5. Slowly deconstruct the sun and shunt the gas off into the outer solar system to construct several brown/red dwarf stars in the outer solar system.
6. Remove enough mass to the point where the sun becomes fully convective, then you can selectively remove helium and recharge it by injecting fresh hydrogen.
7. Use the red/brown dwarfs in the outer solar system to keep the Center sun alive for the next THOUSAND TRILLION YEARS!
The answer is MORE INDUSTRIALIZATION!!!! LOTS MORE!!!
