My niece and several others polluted Alaska when they moved from Oregon
so many Republican state organizations are corrupt. It’s because nobody pays much attention to them. I wish they were under the spotlight more. The head of the Tarrant County (Dallas)Republicans is a Muslim. How did he get in that position? Nobody pays any attention, we are always riveted by national news.
People who are culturally American and not tribal split their votes somewhat evenly, so any place with a strong presence of a cohesive minority will tip elections to those who pander to that cohesive minority.
Alaska is around 15% American Indian, and strongly supports Murkowski. She gets them federal goodies.
Demographics, ignorance, Murk's name recognition (Political family - her dad was Governor and Senator)...
Then again, things that are important in the lower forty eight are not so much up here. Conversely, things that are very important to Alaskans are meaningless to most folks down south.
This is not a defense, just an answer to your question. On the plus side, we do have Sullivan, and our new Governor, Donleavy, is promising.
