House Democrats on Tuesday will introduce a bipartisan bill to expand background checks for gun purchases, following on Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Day One pledge to tackle gun violence.
The legislation will expand background checks for guns bought online and at gun shows, but it excludes “reasonable exceptions” for gun transfers among family members. It will be introduced on the anniversary of the Jan. 8, 2011, mass shooting in Tucson, Ariz., that left former Rep. Gabby Giffords seriously wounded.
Giffords, an Arizona Democrat who resigned her House seat after the shooting, will participate in the unveiling of the measure, Pelosi announced.
“Our Democratic majority will press relentlessly for bipartisan progress to end the epidemic of gun violence on our streets, in our schools, and in our places of worship,” Pelosi said. “Enough is enough."
Democrats have placed gun control at the top of their legislative agenda.

This is like the republican controlled house, during the obama years, voting to repeal obama care. Theater.
Just another do-nothing vote that will never see the light of day in the Senate, and even if it does it’ll never pass. In any event, a Presidential veto awaits.

DEAD on arrival in Senate and they know it. This is what makes Congress USELESS. They take meaningless votes and write up legislation that will NEVER pass.
Tackle a real problem? Not so much.

Doesn’t matter if it won’t pass in the Senate. The DEMs believe they have an issue the majority in this country would support. They are probably right, given how the facts of gun-related crimes are “reported” in the MSM.
Hey Nancy, why not spend your time on something that has at least a chance of passing a Republican dominated Senate and President Trump?

There should be laws stating that if you actively work to undermine the constitution that you go to jail or the gallows. Maybe there already is laws of that nature.
The only areas experiencing an epidemic of gun violence are democrat-controlled cities.
Listening to these Democrats is just like listening to a broken record. After a while you just want to smash it to get some peace and quiet.
