The U.S. Supreme Court announced Monday it will not get involved in the state of Connecticuts fight to reinstate Kennedy cousin Michael Skakels conviction for the 1975 murder of 15-year-old Martha Moxley in Greenwich.
The Connecticut Supreme Court vacated Skakels 2002 conviction and 20-to-life sentence last May and ordered he be entitled to a new trial on charges he beat Moxley to death with a golf club. The court found Skakel was deprived of his right to effective assistance of counsel because his attorneys did not investigate a potential alibi witness who could have helped his defense.
Skakel, 58, is the nephew of the late U.S. Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, brother of the late President John F. Kennedy.

In their failed appeal to SCOTUS to review the Connecticut Supreme Courts ruling, prosecutors balked at the argument that Skakel was legally short-changed.

Like Hillary the kennedys can kill and get away with it
Still it’s not the SCOTUS’s department.
Ted taught him all he knows
Why would anyone even approach the Supreme Court in this case?
As I recall, the Kennedys filed appeal after appeal until they got the “right” judge; this reversal of the conviction based on idiotic legal grounds was a consequence of a one vote margin on the CT Supreme Court after a conservative resigned and was replaced by a liberal Democrat, i.e., “the Kennedys can do no wrong when it comes to women” type of feminist. Skakel is guilty as hell; at least he served 20 years but I feel sad for Martha Moxley’s family - from Judgment at Nuremberg: “you lost the right to call yourself a judge the minute you knowingly sent an innocent man to prison” - reverse it to this “judge” knowingly letting a guilty man go.
“Like Hillary the kennedys can kill and get away with it”
Every society has its elite social castes who are so important that they can kill with immunity. Even today and in Western culture, they have to be so bad that they are literally leaving bodies around, as in the man* in the news today who had a second body discovered in his mansion. Likely he’ll end up in a celebrity spa and maybe do home detention with a servant to wear his ankle monitor.
While these psychopaths are not important to you or me, they are important to the people entrusted with enforcing the law. Thus, they get special treatment. Every rule or law or fact is bent in their favor until the rules, laws and facts look like an Escher print. But for you or I or General Flynn, every rule, law and fact get bent the opposite way so they can add another scalp on their belt and look as though they are doing their job; to serve and protect.

8 Jan: Reuters: U.S. top court rejects Exxon in climate change document dispute
by Nate Raymond and Lawrence Hurley; Additional reporting by Gary McWilliams in Houston
The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday cleared the way for the attorney general of Massachusetts to obtain records from Exxon Mobil Corp to probe whether the oil company for decades concealed its knowledge of the role fossil fuels play in climate change.
The justices declined to hear Exxons appeal of a ruling by the top court in Massachusetts holding that state Attorney General Maura Healey, a Democrat, had jurisdiction to seek records to probe whether the company misled consumers and investors.
The high courts action marked the latest setback for Exxon in its efforts to halt the Massachusetts investigation and a similar one by New Yorks attorney general, who in October filed a lawsuit against the company...

I attended a reunion at my wife’s high school and learned that Skakel was a student there under an assumed name.
He date-raped a couple of women while he was there, and the family protected him, and then moved him out of there.
One law for the Royals, another for everyone else... :-(
when he was in private school, Skakel confessed to having done it. A lot of this crap started in the late1960s with the Warren Court; they threw out the death sentence against Richard Speck, who killed eight nurses in Chicago, because the judge congratulated the jury on giving the swine the death sentence. Mindless stupidity; Speck went on to live a long life in the Illinois jails, he should have been executed promptly. Remember when the “press” pilloried Nixon for saying Charles Manson was guilty, that paragon of innocent creativity? These people are a pox on our country.
Isn’t this the same cousin that was accused of a murder down in a Florida compound back in the early 90’s?
Skakel, like his cousin Michael Kennedy, lived in our town. Skakel was cousin Mike’s gofer. When it looked like he was going down he abandoned his house and fled town. Soon after, Michael was dead from his skiing”accident”.
William Kennedy Smith was Ted Kennedy's nephew (Jean Kennedy's spawn, no relation to Skakel). Ted and William got loaded at a bar in Palm Beach on Good Friday in 1991. They went back to the Kennedy Compound with a bar bunny in tow, who then claimed she was raped by William -- he claimed it was consensual sex. Super-lawyer Roy Black led the defense and William was eventually acquitted. Dr. William (he later completed med school) has been charged with assault, but never convicted, on other occasions.
Yeah, I believe that is the one.. I remember the rape (and thought there was murder there too.. must be a little foggy there:p).. Was stationed down at Homestead AFB back then.. I remember the news and the overhead of the compound.
Bad news follows their ilk everywhere >.<
