Seems like a business opportunity right there. Form an automobile company but you will only sell to law enforcement companies where you’ll sell Crown Victorias. I can see why Ford got rid of them because they didn’t make enough money off them. But seems like a lost opportunity there.

Ok, I have hung around a lot of gear heads including one guy who raced on the small tracks. Now these guys probably like almost no one else that the displacement is 425, if it is in fact. I suspect that not even 425 is exact either.
Anyway none of them call it a 425, they call it what Ford Calls it.

I still miss my father’s ‘74 four door Monaco hardtop with a 400. Great car.

The 270 degree Police Perimeter Alert would be handy for the Somolian LE in Michigan. Can't have PJ wearing, white women sneaking up on one's vehicle.
That occurred in Minne-somalia, not Michigan.

Noted awhile back.
But those white women in their PJ's could be anywhere.

424.96425 cubic inches, actually.
It was listed as a 427, hence my doubt.
Thanks for the info.

According to Ford, this combination bested the outgoing 3.7-liter powered model to 60 mph by 1.1 seconds and outperformed it to 100 mph by 4.7-seconds.Hate when they do that - why not say what the 0-60 and 0-100 times are instead of saying it beat those times......could be that they went from a 10.1 second 0-60 to 9 seconds flat.....

Different sources all say the new model does 0-60 in 5.5 sec. That’s sports sedan fast, but not eye-popping by today’s standards.

when I was a kid I used to like sitting out by the street(4 lane) and patiently waiting for the St. Clair Shores Cops to make a U-Turn and go after a speeder... they would Smolder that right rear tire all the way down the street taking off in pursuit! you could almost see the smile on their face!! Good ‘ol days!!

Now theyre starting to standardize on Watts as the measure of power. Which is appropriate I suppose since Watt came up with horsepower in the first place.

They were called 427s because NASCAR put a 428 cu in (7 liter) engine size limit in 1963.
