People for the American Way Defend ‘Banning Rapid-Fire Ammunition’

The People for the American Way (PFAW) are defending the New Jersey “high capacity” magazine ban, which they present as a ban on “rapid-fire ammunition.”

However, the ban is not about types of ammunition, per se, but about types of magazines.

On December 10, 2018, Breitbart News reported that the ban–which took effect December 11–makes the mere possession of “high capacity” magazines a felony. Even keeping such a magazine in one’s own home is illegal under the ban.

Tried it in the Army; although they told us to fire three round bursts (except during ambushes) and I get why.

One time me and a pal snuck under the bridge and got behind the drill sergeant who was ambushing us. We stood behind him and both poured a couple of full auto magazines of blanks into him before he turned around and said "Good job, fellas! Now how about helping me shoot your platoon?" We gladly joined him.

I have a 10 round magazine on a bolt action rifle.
I like it that way. I don’t have to fumble around in a lint filled pocket for the extra shells.

Just remember, most gun deaths are with handguns, and for many years, that was their focus. But some time in the 25 years, their sights and been turned to “assault weapons”, which contribute to relatively few deaths. They rightly point out that assault weapons are well suited to resisting a tyrannical government. Such resistance has not yet occurred, so one must wonder what they have in mind which could precipitate an armed revolt.
