They are very unhappy for some reason. They think becoming another person, and how much more other can you get, will make them happy and at peace with themselves.
Nearly all the "women to men" that I know of have been raped, usually as children.
Their logic is that "men do not get raped" so being a man will make them safe.
The "women to men" are also sometimes rape victims but they see it as "it is ok for men to want to have sex with women. In fact men will court women for sex rather then forcing it on them. If I was a women then my rapist would have been nice to me rather then brutal."
And then there are the "mommy/daddy wanted a son/daughter if I change to what they want then they will be happy and love me".
Then there are the "attention whores" LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!
But it all comes down to changing yourself in order to be loved and safe.

Gender confused people have been sexually violated and raped. I have known a few. But ignorant people just enable or don’t care and would rather watch TV instead of help.
One masculine gay gal really broke my heart. She was raped repeatedly as a child. She had a very hard time surviving her job to salvage a normal life.
Instead of shunning gays, people should be empathic, not enabling, get to the root cause of rape, and allow them to have a chance of recovery.
