“The Innocence Project”
Now that sounds like an unbiased reliable source. (S)
The death penalty is one of the most under-used (even in Texas), yet biblical forms of punishment for serious crimes. The fact that Texas puts it to use is really saying a lot more about the rest of the nation (and these other 49 states and their failure to be committed to real justice). Indeed - the courts have been the biggest obstacle to utilizing the death penalty - allowing insane loopholes and appeals processes stretching often for decades.
Chicago 1806 murders
Houston 206
The populations are really close and the racial demographics are similar so the cities are a good comparison in many ways
Maybe the death penalty is a deterrent
The Houston Chronicle does some virtue-signaling.
I never heard any Texan say he was “proud” of the executions they do there. I would bet that most Texans would prefer that the offenders leave Texas, or refrain from murdering anyone while they’re there.
I don’t see any members of the Houston Chronicle’s editorial board offering to accept any of these offenders into their homes if they’ll only be granted clemency.
Well, call me an honorary Texan. IMO, there are not ENOUGH executions in Texas.
My thoughts exactly.
Like Ron White says,”Send em to the front of the line.”
Dumbest thing I've read all year. So we don't pay for "appeals and incarceration" costs for somebody sentenced to 40 years? This is so bogus.
Yeah, not the “Let’s Find Out the Facts Project”.
I have no doubt that innocent people have been convicted and had various sentences imposed including being sent to death row. Not sure how to remedy that. It’s certainly a flawed system in a multitude of ways. Any system with humans involved will ALWAYS be flawed.
But I do think it’s very important to keep the death penalty for certain crimes.

“The Editorial Board”
a collection of faggots, limp-wrist snowflakes and leftards..
I absolutely agree -
If only TX were Executions ‘R’ Us. Meanwhile, back on Planet Earth, TX had 1,478 murders in 2016. The 13 people executed in 2018 represents less than 1% of the murders committed in the state. If anything, TX should strive to put at least 1 out of every 2 murderers in the ground, in order to achieve a measure of deterrence. http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/txcrime.htm That will happen when pigs fly, thanks to the raft of Democrats elected to local judgeships in 2018.
Watch 24 hours of the Cable Channel Investigation Discovery and if you don’t support the Death Penalty 110% when you’re done you are out of your frigging mind.
The most heinous Crimes committed and the Perps never get the Death Penalty. One in CA did, but it was changed to Life after the Rose Bird Court ruled the Death Penalty invalid.
The same happened with Charlie Manson too.
“I dont see any members of the Houston Chronicles editorial board offering to accept any of these offenders into their homes if theyll only be granted clemency.”
THEY WONT.
Same feel-good leftards who are Ok with transgender freaks going into a women’s fitting room BUT will never allow their children with these pukes.
They are liars and hypocrites who wont even do what they spout of their asses..
