Casting himself as a key opposing figure to President Trump, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo invoked the name of Trump's immigrant grandfather in a Tuesday speech at Ellis Island.
"This is the harbor where Fredrick Trump arrived from Germany, and whose grandson would become President of the United States," Cuomo said at his third inaugural address, rattling off a list of dignitaries whose parents and grandparents came through the island, including Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Secretary of State Colin Powell and Vice President Mike Pence.
"This is not a faded memory of yesterday, but rather a shining beacon of tomorrow," Cuomo said of Ellis Island, which served as one of the main ports of entry for immigrants in the 20th century. "Never forget where you came from, and never forget or deny this place," he said.
This is when President trump should Open it back up and order ICE to Round up ALL Illegal Aliens in New York and have them brought to Ellis Island for Processing and Deportation
Establish the MAGA immigrant force. Forget DACA have immigrants show they can make a strong contribution to the US based on merit.
That is correct, idiot Cuomo (admitted redundancy). . . he didn’t swim the Rio Grande under cover of night to get here.
LOL! Mine reportedly arrived in 1630 from Denmark and settled in the Hudson Valley/Green Mountains are of NY. They are, no doubt, spinning in their graves these days as to what’s become of what they envisioned.
It makes me sick that we print voting ballots in any language other than English.
That should be changed back and mace part of any immigration overhaul. The laws already say citizens must be able to read and understand English; WE NEED TO ENFORCE THEM.
Excellent!
Many famous Yiddish-speaking immigrants were named Shane Ferguson...
