Are you having trouble accessing your CenturyLink internet or phone service today? Well, you're not alone.
CenturyLink customers across the country have been reporting issues with their service Thursday.
Downdetector.com indicated issues began being reported a little before 4 a.m. EST.
CenturyLink released a statement to Newsweek explaining that it's network "is experiencing a disruption affecting customer services."
"We know how important these services are to our customers and we are working to restore services as quickly as possible," CenturyLink's statement continued.
While Downdetector.com noted the majority of the reported problems were related to internet service, some were also having issues with their phone and cable.

Another source made the following citation for the breadth of the outage:
"According to the website downdetector.com, the outage is affecting many areas across the Pacific Northwest and other parts of the country, including Seattle, Denver, Portland, Los Angeles, Dallas, Salt Lake City, Albuquerque, Boise, Chicago, Phoenix, Cincinnati and other areas."
The source article mentions Alabama and Minnesota as well.
Another source I read cited that government phones were non-functional in parts of Idaho, 911 service was affected in Washington state and ATMs in various states were affected as well.
Sucks to be a CenturyLink customer today.
It called “Century” Link because that how long it takes to get IP network packets across the country.
Working fine here in southern Missouri
My folks in Idaho have Centurylink for Internet. They have Verizon for cell. I have Cable One for Internet in New Mexico. And I have Verizon for cell. My Internet is fine, but cell phone and cellular internet connectivity have been down all day. Verizon must be working for my folks, as I was able to get texts from them.
I didn’t have any issues in Phoenix either. I did hear that Comcast and Verizon also experienced issues today.
It’s so slow, nobody will even realize it’s down for days.
Getting weird. https://breaking911.com/happening-now-mysterious-blue-lights-flood-sky-over-nyc-as-queens-residents-report-explosions/
Centurylink service has been degraded here since the flooding over 5 years ago and they have not restored service in 5 years. I guess I have 95 years more to wait for century link restoration.
We have CL internet, not TV, but have not had any problems. Omaha, NE
The company has not been ran very damned well in the last 5 years....
I can say this with definite inside type knowledge, because I know people who used to and still work there.
In southern Arizona, my Internet was down this morning, and spotty ever since. FreeRepublic works well but other web sites have been hit or miss all day.
T-Mobile just sent out a text alert minutes ago that they are experiencing ‘phone number port out and device change’ scams, and advise account security PIN changes.
CL phone is okay, don’t use their internet.
A substation in queens is on fire.

Hack, incompetence? Imagine how bad it would be if it was the real deal ol= originating from a foreign entity. Or maybe it is?
Sounds like a nationwide hack attack??????
It was out for hours late last night and has been laggy all day. (Oregon)
