After reading the book I started thinking twice when I visit the grocery store. How about you?
It was a real eye-opening book. I know how to garden pretty well. I do have 90 days supply of food. I’m not going to be one of these people that puts a whole year away though.
Besides stocking up on canned goods at the grocery store I also try to keep my never driven 75 Fiat charged.
Apparently only the really old cars and trucks without computer chips will be able to run after an EMP.
There is also the small matter that it will be awfully hard to get the gas out of the tanks at the gas stations - without any electricity - to allow the old vehicles to run.
I suppose if one has an old vehicle which will run one will not find much traffic able to exit the large cities to get to the countryside.
In Washington state it would be difficult to decide in the wintertime whether to weather it in Western Washington’s temperate but socialist areas or try to get to Eastern Washington where there would be better people and more food growing but be really cold if it was winter.
I’ve been stocking-up for the past 6-7yrs. Stores have sales so take advantage of them. So do ammo sellers on the Net, and my firearms... well, they are from 2001 onward, diverse and very specialized. No, I don’t do any dangerous ‘boating’.
