Critics of President Donald Trump say his conflict with China’s trade practices, over that nation’s long history of taking advantage of America financially, his tariffs and his view of the world economy all are combining to pose a threat to the U.S. economy.
This is despite stunningly low unemployment and high wage reports.
The market itself has been anything but stable in recent weeks, with declines of 600 or more points in a day being followed by advances of 600 points or more in a day.
Now a CNBC report is quoting one expert, Steve Okun, of the McLarty Associates consulting firm, with his comments that a major threat to the economy is Democrats’ plans for impeachment of the president.
“Democrats will do something on impeachment next year,” he told CNBC, because of comments from Jerry Nadler, a Democrat who is expected to head the House Judiciary Committee, that the president committed “impeachable” offenses.
“Whether the Democrats will impeach Trump, he didn’t say, but he said he committed impeachable offenses and that came with the hush money to cover up and certainly can come with the obstruction of justice [when] the Mueller report comes out,” Okun told the agency.
Businesses are at risk because if Washington turns into gridlock over impeachment, nothing else will get done, he said.

“Experts” say, eh? Yeah, unnamed experts on how impeachment proceedings will affect the US economy. Riiiight. Well, I am a self proclaimed expert in that case, and I say Trump will use his impeachment like a club to beat Democrats mercilessly. Trump Ju Jitsu.
President Trump may very well get more done with the new Congress than the old.
Better to be stabbed in the chest than the back like the Republicans did.
Business being at risk I think is the issue. D(den)C(orruption) being shut down is a good thing to me. I feel safer anyway.

Americans have been listening to the left wing democrat serial liars for two years now. They have a new series of lies every day.
This is must more of their BS lies.
They would all be dead or gone by now if the lies they told about Trump were true.
The worst thing that could have happened to them is that if what they said about Trump had been true. By now he would have had them all rounded up and in reeducation camps.
When you think about it, at least we would be free of their lies for awhile.

I guess I sound like a Trump fan boy saying this but my impression is Trump is simply breaking a few eggs to make a better omelet for America’s consumption.
Who cares? This Chicken Little mentality about the stock market is a joke. Forget the emotional BS you read and look at the fundamentals that affect earnings. If you're a day trader, fine, go for the Sky-is-Falling crap. If you're in it for the long haul, treat yourself to a slice of pie and ignore them.

The market’s down quite a bit since election day 2018. Can’t wait to see how far it’ll go with impeachment hearings on TV!
