Interestingly, he describes the 'tyranny' emanating from Washington, DC, as 'a federal assault', yet of the three agenda points mentioned -- Marijuana legalization, MORE gun control, and 'environmental protections' -- two of them severely limit personal liberties.

And he has the temerity to invoke the Founding Fathers and the Revolutionary War.

Guy's a psychopath, and I remain delighted I fled from that horrific state back in the year 2000.

More posturing by New York libs. Scapegoating the big bad Republican. Nothing new:

Infamous ‘Drop Dead’ Was Never Said by Ford

https://www.nytimes.com/2006/12/28/nyregion/28veto.html

Mr. Ford never explicitly said “drop dead.” Yet those two words, arguably the essence of his remarks as encapsulated in the immortal headline, would, as he later acknowledged, cost him the presidency the following year, after Jimmy Carter, nominated by the Democrats in New York, narrowly carried the state.

“It more than annoyed me because it wasn’t accurate,” he recalled years later. “It was very unfair.”

That view is echoed in an evolving version of historical revisionism. Only two months after saying or meaning or merely implying “drop dead” — or, perhaps, resorting to tough love by holding the city’s feet to the fire — Mr. Ford signed legislation to provide federal loans to the city, which were repaid with interest.

Gov. Hugh L. Carey, among others, argues that Mr. Ford’s public recalcitrance bought time for the city to make its case to an even more reluctant Congress. (“He told me he didn’t have the votes,” Mr. Carey recalled Mr. Ford saying.

The Governor, as you suggest, has it completely backwards. The Trump Administration has been reducing centralized interference with local traditions & personal freedom. One doubts that he has even read the long bill of particulars:

Stop all federal funds to New York. Put tarrifs on all interstate trade with them. Stop accepting their voter rights. Kick out all their congressmen and Senators. Place toll booths on all roads in or out.

Appears as he is looking for a way to roll withheld federal income tax dollars from NY citizens into his state coffers. I doubt with the vast number of welfare staters in NY that they would look kindly on NY making it where they get no IRS refunds from the EIC golden goose.

One of the few things democrats are good at: massive resistance.

The mainstream media’s reaction to this vs. any red state saying the same thing during Obama’s reign will be noticeable.

I would bet a prime rib dinner that FEDERAL funds flowing INTO NY state are well over $5 Billion annually——and probably well over $25 Billion.

Soooo—Cuomo wants NY to be INDEPENDENT from the Federal Government-—

President Trump: Here is you reason to cut off & permanently STOP all Federal funds going to that state-—for any reason.
Ports
Schools
Highways
Military protection
Airports
Auto regulations

ANYTHING & EVERYTHING that the Federal Government pays to NY state can be cut off as of 1-1-2019.

Cuomo want the state to be independent-—let it be independent.

USE every penny of those monies to build the WALL at the southern border & indirectly protect people who live in NYC-—But just do it, please Pres. Trump.

ALSO-—NO student loans backed by the US government to any student in any NY State school.

How fast will Cuomo buckle?

Hopefully after Trump has used $25 BILLION to build the entire WALL.

Mexico will eventually pay for the WALL, but New York State will be making a huge down payment.
