The network that all but dedicates 24/7 coverage to destroying President Donald Trump found cause to report that amid the government shut down, special counsel Robert Mueller and his team will continue to work.
With Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and his Democratic caucus putting politics over border security, the government is now partially shut down with no end in sight and CNN was eager to report that while some aspects of the Justice Department, which oversees Muellers investigation, will be affected, the special counsels office will not be impacted.
CNN reported:
All employees with the Special Counsels Office are considered exempt and will continue their operations in the case of a lapse in appropriations, Special Counsels office spokesman Peter Carr told CNN in late November.
The office is funded from a permanent indefinite appropriation and would be unaffected in the event of a shutdown, a Justice Department spokesperson added. The appropriation bills before Congress do not impact the special counsels office.

Grasping at anything to advance an agenda is what they do.

“a permanent indefinite appropriation”
The stuff of dreams.
