I agree that DEAD ZONE is the only Stephen King movie that really worked as a film. THE SHINNING had some memorable scenes but just wasn’t a worthy story. So I read the book, THE SHINNING and it was terrible. He asks the reader for too much suspension of disbelief. The reader has to believe that not only is the hotel haunted but even the hedge animals outside come to life and prance around. King writes for fifth graders.
