An unidentified foreign government-owned company involved in Robert Mueller's investigation has asked the Supreme Court to halt a grand jury subpoena it has received.

The Supreme Court appeal comes after a federal appeals court ruling that ordered the company to comply with the subpoena.

The company, which has not been named, had been required to turn over 'information' about its commercial activity in a criminal investigation, CNN reported.

The appeals court also said the company could face fines for every day of noncompliance.

All court cases involving grand jury subpoenas are sealed. Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 6(e)(5).
