I thought Trump decided to get the troops out of Syria when John Bolton couldn’t explain to him why they were there in the first place.
No, he believes Erdogan that Russia and its allies in this coming battle are prepared to go all the way. It’s his job to prevent a nuclear war that will destroy our country.
It makes me feel old to be having to say this. I remember hiding under desks and behind sofas when I was a kid. We seem to have gone all numb on this danger—too involved with the pleasures of the world. Update: It can still happen.
Who knows what else was in the deal, but regardless of what was said or wasn’t said, not poking the tiger has to have been a big part of it, said or unsaid. Russia is desperate, it’s economy going down the tubes. Time for us to step back.
First -- it was reported that Erdogan of Turkey asked Trump a question that Trump couldn't answer -- namely why are we still in Syria? Then Trump asked Bolton. If you believe the reports etc. Who knows?
I find the report hard to believe that Trump would not know why we are in Syria and would have to ask Bolton.
Yep - and he did allude to some deal being made but this wasn’t a snap decision as the article tries to imply....he made a decision to do the right thing then decided to see what he could leverage from it ....his plan was going forward regardless of any new deals.....which probably also had a hint of a really big stick in the mix.
