We have been doing it for 35 yrs and the kids have kids now who all look forward to it. About 15 yrs ago they found out we were Repubs and one of the kids said, “I’ve never met a Republican?” It was hysterical.

I know what a tape worm is, but what is a tape work?I suppose that it is something serious. Should he be hospitalized? I understand that his father was a mailman. But a tape work. That sounds like a George “Kingfish” Stevens from Amos N Andy diagnosis.

I like to write limericks. This is my ode to todays news

Closed borders – I think we agree
Stops the bad dudes – and that is the key
But two won’t say yes – Go ahead take a guess
It’s those idiots — Chuck and Nancy

When Obama was king of the hill
And Chris Mathews was getting his thrill
They both smiled and said – oh yes go ahead
But the progress always stood still

Now Trump wants to build us a wall
And the voters have followed his call
All we need is a bill, passed on Capitol Hill
But the whole thing’s turned into a brawl

Chuck and Nancy don’t care about us
There’s a reason they’re making a fuss
Trump can’t succeed, it’s the Democrats creed
They’re throwing us under the bus

The government is now in shut down
It’s the fault of Schumer the clown
The house passed a bill and Nancy got ill
Will the Senate be the toast of the town

It’s time you all close the gap
And put an end to the flap
Get off of your asses, see this bill passes
We’re tired of the partisan crap

Even if he did need a push it means he is listening to his voters. Something rarely done in DC and he did get it passed the House which Dingbat said could not happen.

Right now Chucky is stopping legislation over couch change. Trump can say he was ready to deal and they pulled the rug out.

Just to correct F.Chuck the “Shoomer Shutdown” effects hardly anyone.
Mattis was on a top secret mission and that's why he is pleading guilty so he does not interfere with pending prosecutions, see below.

https://www.quodverum.com/2018/12/355/james-mattis-to-resign-as-secretary-of-defense.html

Syria will be better off than ever since the Saudis and UAE have already replaced the 2,000 troops we sent home now muslim terrorists will be killed by law abiding muslim soldiers, the best of the bunch highly trained and weaponized like no other soldiers ever.In addition the Saudis have agreed to spend a billion dollars in Kurdish areas helping the economy and revitalized the kurds, they have not been forgotten only helped more than ever by neighbors.
As for Syria here's a few posts to show what goes on over at AT:

Below is what you wrote yesterday here on AT. A brilliant find from that noted sage Sundance I believe. I followed with a similar piece but yours were first. Just shows that Trump always has it down. He is always on the ball and ahead of everyone. We pull out our troops the Saudis,UAE put theirs in.Also Saudi Arabia has agreed to invest close to a billion dollars in the Kurd area of Syria and Iraq which will revitalize the area as well.
Pres.Trump and MBS have an alliance with Israel and it will work we will soon see Saudi muslims taking out other muslim terrorists which is as it should be.

CHECKMATE – Saudi Crown Prince MbS Sends Replacement Troops To Defend Kurds in Syria…
Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and the DC Deceptions are concerned [they aren't actually concerned, they just pretend to be to attack Trump] about the Kurdish groups in Syria as the President Trump withdraws U.S. forces. The concern stems from a possibility of Turkey taking hostile action toward our Kurdish allies. However, a new report from the region highlights Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman is sending his forces to replace the U.S. troops.
Now let’s consider the brilliance of this move.
First, remember Turkish President Recep Erdogan was the antagonist in the Kashoggi matter and Erdogan orchestrated the blame toward Saudi Crown Prince MbS. There is no better motivated mid-east ally to protect the Kurds against any military action by Turkey other than MbS. No doubt MbS and UAE will send their best forces.

Sundance’s moderator (s) keep(s) banning me. I keep having to change my ID and use a proxy server (Tor Browser - free) to rotate my IP address I started out as FeralCat and now am on about my forth Edgar Rice Burrough’s “John Carter” character. I think the first time I got banned was for “insulting Ted Nugget” and the last for “Insulting Mattis” although the last couple of days more and more there have turned against Mattis as its logically very hard now to be for both Trump and Mattis..

Being banned from websites should be worn as a badge of honor. Sad but true. Lots of places claim they are all for freedom of speech. But, when it really comes down to it they want only the speech they like to be free.

Welcome to the banned club. Apparently I am persona non grata at CTH and BB, even though my comments were innocuous or not at all

While the 15 mil raised, or 30 mil is significant, it's perhaps 1/1000th of what's needed, so I see it as a good way to show support, rather than actual monies to build a wall. Hell, congress sneezes 5 billion every day. And Ted Cruz says 5b buys only 215 miles of fence and some repairs.

I like the steel spike fence, it seems it might be cheaper, too. DJT seems to feel "fence" semantics help, so he can get away from the "wall" connotations.

This will be a bruiser---dems can not allow any permanent border barriers to be built or they and their party is toast. They can't convince any voters with their ideas, so they must import new voters indebted to them.

Hard to imagine isnt it. The sheltered lives some live. It’s important to note as well since what we do here is so far ahead of the common political knowledge of the average person its truly amazing.

Nonsense. We don't have to have a race to the bottom. There are a number of factors that contribute to competitiveness in the global economy. Productivity, cheap energy, educated workforce, tax and regulatory policies, protection of property rights, stable and non-corrupt governments, etc.

I agree with some of your points.

cheap energy - Yes, since energy / oil is major cost for all things manufactured cheap oil/electricity (via gas power turbines) is a Plus for U.S.

Productivity, - I am aware of two industries, - EPC - constructions and Software development where local corporate MANAGEMENT is a cause of limited to no productivity improvements

tax and regulatory policies - We are overtaxed in a number of ways. Personal property (Real estate) is taxed too much by local elected scum. On national level corporations are taxed way too much as well as the double taxation of Dividends at the personal level. Trump has STARTED to address the Regulatory issues. But until a number of Federal dept. are eliminated - Dep. Education. EEOC, the list is long - we will not be getting anywhere

protection of property rights - so here we have TWO egregious examples of Pirates on the Courts steeling our rights. Chief Pirate Roberts - Obamacare is a TAX - who cares about the 10th amendment, or the commerce clause. And of course the idiot from New Hampshire who ruled that Eminent domain can be ignored (Kelo)

stable and non-corrupt governments - I like this one best, but let us look at who turns up to vote in the Primaries and general elections - these people are not you and I IF they do show up and vote

If we had less immigration and a smaller surplus of labor, wages would go up making it more attractive to work than collect welfare.

I would like to correct your comment one small bit - We have too much Welfare, this causes other social ills. Once people know that they have a "safe" base they tend to bitch and be nasty to others because this behavior has NO downside.

He was incredibly self-righteous today with Wallass. He thinks he can “fix” what is wrong with this country because of the chaos Trump has brought to this country. He says he is actively looking at running but won’t say if it will be as a Republican or an independent. I despise this man.

As for the Unemployment rate - Liers figure and figures lie. How many WORKING AGE people are out of the work force?

There are a lot of drones sucking up welfare. Subsidized drug dealers living with their welfare queen girl friends etc etc. It should be a lot harder to get ,and continue to receive free stuff, in fact only the truly needy, infirm and disabled should get it.

Those "down on their luck" need to work to earn their way. The term "welfare" does not mean free access to the taxpayers pocketbook. It means "how you are doing".

We need to stop subsidizing poverty and penalizing those who work, the founders never envisioned the government to be a giant wealth re-destribution mechanism.

Let the parasites work....or starve.
