Yes, and 90% of them are in DC, MD, and VA: all solid DEM strongholds.

How long can the average fed worker hold out without a paycheck?

From what I could find, the gov't shut down between December 16, 1995 and January 6, 1996. An earlier start than this time. I know they all eventually get paid, but how long can they hold out?

I was in the Army during that shutdown. We just got paid late. Since most of the businesses in the area were reliant on the Post for their livelihood, they understood. It wasn’t a huge deal.
