The eight Republicans who bucked on border funding
The Washington Times: ANALYSIS/OPINION: ^ | Friday, December 21, 2018 | Cheryl K. Chumley

Posted on 12/22/2018 9:58:19 AM PST by E. Pluribus Unum

Eight Republicans in the House joined 177 Democrats in voting against President Donald Trump’s border wall funding request.

Call this The List of Political Suicides. At least, it would be, save the fact that half are leaving office, anyway.

They are: Reps. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Carlos Curbelo, both from Florida; Justin Amash and Fred Upton, both from Michigan; Ken Buck from Colorado; Will Hurd from Texas; Erik Paulsen from Minnesota; and David Valadao from California.

Meanwhile, 11 other Republicans outright skipped the vote.

What were their reasons for bucking their party’s tide — for turning aside their president’s wishes — for bluntly telling the conservatives of America: Sorry, we’re with Democrats on this one?

Waste.

Wasteful spending, as Amash put it in a tweet.

“This massive, wasteful spending bill — stuffed with unrelated items — passed 217-185,” Amash wrote. “It’s amazing how some wall funding causes my fellow Republicans to embrace big government.”

That’s one way to look at it...

And sending $10 billion to Mexico wasn’t wasteful?

Justin Amash and Fred Upton, both from Michigan

Justin Amash has turned into RINO grande. It would be better to vote conservative Democrat (if there was such a thing). Republicans lie like rugs when they campaign.

Trump hasn’t given up the fight:

Presidential TFR NOTAMs
CANCELLED: Palm Beach/Mar-A-Lago, FL area - December 21, 2018 - January 6, 2019
FDC NOTAM 8/3017 for the PALM BEACH, FL area from December 21, 2018 through January 6, 2019 has been CANCELLED.

He’s not going to Mar-A-Lago as planned for Christmas.

Find a way Mr. Trump. The real government shutdown starts on January 3, 2019 when Pelosi runs the House.

"The eight Republicans anti-Trump RINOs who bucked on border funding"

There! Fixed it.

Political party association needs to be based on a lawmaker’s voting record.

He did post an explanation on twitter...said the bill was so bloated that our grandkids would be lucky to get out from under it. He said, I think, that it was the worst case of big government he had ever seen.

The basic question is not "did they vote as Trump wished", but rather did they vote as the majority of their constituents wished. If they did act as representatives of the people, not just as tools of the executive suite or as unaccountable wackos like one of the Supremes, then they did right.

Rep. Paulson was defeated in the last election and Minnesta’s 3rd District will now be represented by liberal loon, Dean Phillips, an heir to a large distilling business. Given the results of the last election, Minnesota, already filled with jihadist bent Somalis, will soon be a sanctuary state for the refuse from south of the border

Yes and here are a couple "read my lips" moments; the wall will be paid for by Mehico and HRC will be prosecuted.

Without those two lies, PDJT would not be in office and the Hilda Beast would be doing everything she could to further ruin our Nation after Obama.

There is not hope and it is time to disband this Republic.

There is no $10B. Not authorized, not allocated, not disbursed and not from the Federal Treasury.

It is a conflated article and it is the usual State Department/international development bank/small amount of gov’t funds pledged from Mexico over 5 years/Task Force/”commitments”/Strategic Framework meetings set in the future balderdash.

This was blown up out of all relationship to the reality in order to pressure Trump supporters to abandon him.

The truth is out there. Try the Brietbart article and read it all the way to the end.

No media is our friend. Always try to check sources and quotes....full quotes, at that.

If the POTUS went to his palatial FL Home for Christmas, all you would be hearing is how the poor Federal Employees were left behind freezing in their humble abodes looking at their Charlie Brown Tree because they couldn’t afford to pay their Utility Bills.
