Actually, problems created with the demise of the Ottoman empire in 1918 are now being solved.
What you see as a cluster-flock is actually history reverting to a past mean that some do not want.
The Brits and the Frogs bit off more than they could chew and that is now being rectified

Syria? Try to imagine what it would be like, if it had only become more stable over the past seven years. And try to imagine what would have happened around the world during the same time frame.
Which two militarily powerful nations have vetoed many of our government's foreign relations efforts in the U.N.? And what were their motives?
