The next congress can’t be seated until this one is adjourned... which it can’t do without passing a continuing resolution to fund the government.
What needs to happen is two more republican senators than they have now needs to flip to a yes vote on voting on this under budget rules (the nuclear option) so they only need 51 votes to pass it. Right now we don’t have supposed republicans Flake, Kyl, Alexander and Hatch on our side because of “civility” or some other such nonsense after they just sat and watched the dems do the same thing to pass Obamacare. If some combination of Kyl, Hatch or Alexander (Flake is a democrat and a lost cause) can be convinced to flip to a yes the nuclear option they have the votes to pass the wall right now.
The next congress cant be seated until this one is adjourned... which it cant do without passing a continuing resolution to fund the government.
