Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) rejected President Donald Trumps call to partially fund the border wall with a simple majority vote on Friday, suggesting not enough Senate Republicans support the measure.
President Trump called on McConnell to use the nuclear option, or switch to a simple majority vote in the Senate, to pass the continuing resolution (CR) that would partially fund the border wall...

Let another 10 million or so across to add to the 40 mil then stop all remittance.
Face it Brother Robinson, the government does NOT want to secure the border and will be up to people like myself who has been down there for 12+ years.
We need millions of We the People on the border if we want something done. But alas, most people are just hot air and will not pony up for the fight.
Even Oath Keepers is using the "new" call to arms to fatten their war chest. The first call to arms never swung the bat.
It is all smoke and mirrors.
Put the wall funding item in the bill.
Vote on the bill.
Es sencillo.
Flake voted no. So glad hes gone.
Trump needs to put the 5 billion in the context of the average Americans money they can understand.
Like, if you had $100, I’m asking for 5 cents to fulfill a promise that got me elected.
(I’m not sure of the numbers)
Do they have to get to 60 votes and need democrats?
So the Dems are going to have a partial shut down until the next Congress is seated?
The next congress can’t be seated until this one is adjourned... which it can’t do without passing a continuing resolution to fund the government.
Oh gosh Mitch is having a good time spewing lies that he supports the wall
Going on and on to make himself look good but is actually secretly happy he is helping spoil the chances of getting wall funding.
“McConnell says he supports bill with border money after meeting with Trump”
I didn’t read the article because of the WP article limit.
What needs to happen is two more republican senators than they have now needs to flip to a yes vote on voting on this under budget rules (the nuclear option) so they only need 51 votes to pass it. Right now we don’t have supposed republicans Flake, Kyl, Alexander and Hatch on our side because of “civility” or some other such nonsense after they just sat and watched the dems do the same thing to pass Obamacare. If some combination of Kyl, Hatch or Alexander (Flake is a democrat and a lost cause) can be convinced to flip to a yes the nuclear option they have the votes to pass the wall right now.
The next congress cant be seated until this one is adjourned... which it cant do without passing a continuing resolution to fund the government.

So if their is a stalemate we keep the same house and senate we have now?
Flip him over maybe?
There used to be a time when Senate leaders would take the problem members of their party into the cloak room and read them the riot act, threatened them, and did whatever needed to be done to ensure they voted the right way. I doubt anything like that goes on any more, but it should. Flake, Corker, and the rest of the RINOS should have been dealt with like that.
I believe the entire budget for 2019 is $4.4 trillion.
So he's asking for a nickle when you have $44 in your pocket.
Or asking for five bucks when you have $4,400 in your sock drawer.
Agree.
