If someone believes in global warming, then you can be sure he is a globalist who loathes Western civilization.
Let's examine that outside the generalization. There are two types of "Man Made Global Warming Religiousose". There is the activist and belligerent, "humans are a disease" worshiper. Then there is the passive, "Consensus Ignoramus" believer. Both have something in common that can be attributable to the those "who loathes Western Civilization".
Loathing Western Civilization can be active and passive. It can be intentional or subconscious. If we examine the liberal ideological pathology and logic, cannot one whom is apathetic to LGBT causes not be considered a "hater"? There is no room, or expectation, that someone is neutral or "in the middle" from a liberal perspective. You are either with them or against them, part of the problem or part of the solution.
I contend that the author can generalize in this fashion because the apathetic "Consensus Believer" of the religion will generally also align with a liberal set of values that will also be supporters of such things as; Open boarders, Free Government Health Care, United Nations, One Government Rule, Redistribution of Wealth, etc.
Now then, heretofore, when generalizing a political position, it stands to reason, that anyone so apathetic as to believe that humans can change the temperature of this planet by simply rejecting the use of all technology, starting with the use of fire for energy, can be assumed to indeed "loathe Western Civilization", even if passively so.

Many call them problems. Possibly Trump views them as mere side effects of applying force. Or frictional heat when you move something against resistance. No heat then nothing’s getting done.

Every businessman is one hire away from “BAD hires”. In a meritocracy you hire based on credentials and experience, not on philosophical alignment or “feelings”, give the person a fair test, and evaluate the results. Trump is actually doing better at retention than most C level corporate managers so that would say he’s made onbalane GOOD hiring decisions, and has acted swiftly to remove those who have either failed to perform, shown that they cannot accept his vision, or have incurred liabilities (such as Pruitt’s ethical lapses which could not have been predicted).
A little perspective would go along way toward understanding the Trump Administration and it’s staffing policies.

The newbie listened to establishment DC with his appointment of Tillerson. Rookie mistake....should have gone with instincts from day one.
There are people without an ounce of introspection in their minds who believe with all the fervor of religious devotion in the worship of expertise. If an expert says it, then it must be so. The warmists aren’t necessarily haters of Western civilization, although that is where it inevitably tends.
That is the argument ArtDodger also made, and it actually really valid.
Trump doesn’t keep people on board out of a mistaken sense of loyalty, or to prevent embarrassing himself. If he thinks they need to go, he gets rid of them. I admire that.
I know Army officers and Marine Officers who worked directly for the man. They have no greater praise for any other person.
Politics aside, he is a patriot. And a decent man. And a legendary leader.

Environmentalists fear and hate industrial civilization and economic progress. They also believe in the intrinsic value of nature which leads to the cultural devaluation of man.
Let’s face it, most of the military brass, and much of the rank and file have been brought to heel by Political Correctness. If you buck the PC system, you won’t get promoted and may end up being put out altogether. So, it’s not just Mattis, but he’s the visible tip of the iceberg.
