...Gen. Jack Keane and Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., are considered the frontrunners to replace Mattis...For Trump to nominate Keane, however, he would have to swallow Keanes hawkish stance...and his recent criticism of the move to pull out of Syria, which the retired general called a huge strategic mistake." Clearly, we're repeating the Obama mistake of premature withdrawal, which got us ISIS, Keane said on Fox News America's Newsroom on Thursday. In my judgment, we need to stick to it and finish the job, Keane added, noting that the withdrawal of American troops will give a victory of strategic proportions to the Iranian regime.

Our military always wants to complete the job. When is the last time we had rules of engagement that would permit it to do so? WWII?
Its 100% truth. ANY VETERAN (unless criminal) is world and above far more honorable than ANY man in Washington. ANY
I’d take Rand Paul to run the DoD than the usual bought-off neocon globalists, thank you.
Wow what they say about them is true. Kind of slow.
Yes, southern border, and no, I don’t mean with Marines, I mean with the money it costs to fund that middle eastern presence.
LOL.
I used to think like that. But then gain I was never a
Marine. Mattis = POS deep state political hack. Good riddance.
Staggering compared to what?
Certainly not our previous wars.
Mission 1 is possible. Number 2 is pure fantasy. I guess that's what obliged the caveat above re: "completion". (i.e. the deployment that never ends) Just endless meddling and expenditure of lives and fortune for the globalists.
I'm gad Trump is our President. Securing our own borders trumps pointless foreign adventurism.
I’d like the answer to that.
All of our generals who knew victory first hand are gone now. The only generals we have now only know world policing.
Whats the job and what does complete mean?
About who? I dont have time for innuendo and certainly no personal attacks. Either spit it out plainly or move on
Speaking of Ralph Peters, what the heck happened to him?
If the president could he would have already. The problem at present in Congress in his way. The money saved unfortunately wouldnt go to the border. Itd go to each branch and each branch leadership allocated that money or spends it where Congress has told them to spend it for the fiscal year
I think he’s living in an insane asylum.
I’m no mind reader, but knowing his past statements I would be willing to bet he is not in favor of this move. I don’t get Mark Davis, please share what he says on the matter.
BTW, many on here rightly so talk about how Congress did not authorize this. I agree with that. Only Congress has the power to declare war and quite frankly politically it is good for a President to get everyone on record as to where they stand before committing troops to combat. However, that is a completely different argument than pulling troops out of Syria. We as freepers can have that argument, but that is a separate subject. People are just using it to muddy the waters about this decision.
Man, Messiah complex or what? Better to die a patriot than a coward.
