An official from the nation’s largest sheriff’s department vowed this week to “physically remove” ICE agents from its county jails.

Speaking at a Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, Sheriff Alex Villanueva from the Los Angeles County sheriff’s office said he eliminate the presence of federal immigration agents from the city’s county jails.

“We are going to physically remove ICE from the county jails," Villanueva told the board, using the acronym for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

On television, the sheriff seceeded from the United States.

He is no longer American. He is no longer subject to civil law. It is now a military matter and he is an enemy combatant.

Sheer insanity!

I cannot believe that these sanctuary cities, counties, and states are not in violation of any number of federal laws.

When we get a REAL Department of Justice, and a REAL Attorney General and several of these blatant lawbreakers are indicted, tried, convicted and sentenced to long terms in a federal prison, perhaps then some sanity will return to our country?

BTW, I am NOT holding my breath on that!

Hi might want to rethink that. It would be a violation of the U.S. Code to interfere with a federal officer in the performance of his duties.

......”The US either cedes California to Mexico or sends Federal troops in to clear it out and re-establish it as a functioning state of the republic”......

The leadership of California continues to function as an independent country would who would oppose and defy our laws.
Imo as long as they function as this without consequences they will......

.....”It seems any physical interference by the sheriff in the lawful actions of the federal agents would subject the sheriff to federal charges”.......

Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden’s decision to end a jail immigration program “is an open invitation to aliens who commit criminal offenses,” an official with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Thursday night — adding that “residents should expect a more visible ICE presence in Charlotte, as ICE will now have no choice but to conduct more at-large arrests in local neighborhoods and at worksites.”

That change “will inevitably result in additional collateral arrests instead of arrests at the jail where enforcement is safer for everyone involved,” said ICE Atlanta Field Office Director Sean Gallagher, in a statement emailed to the Charlotte Observer Thursday.

About this new Sheriff...Let’s see what he actually does...

Jim McDonnell, the incumbent who lost, was not a big fan of “santuary state”...Maybe that played a role in his defeat?
