The Trump tweet says nothing about shutdown now. He is not explicit but I think it reads as though he is accepting the CR and looking toward dealing with the "Democrat" House in the New Year.

Trump tweets. That’s cute. Other presidents vetoed. Wake me up when Trump brings the Federal government to a standstill by vetoing appropriations bills. Then Congress will know he’s serious. And when Republicans override his veto and he names the specific individuals who did so in his tweets, and they go into hiding, then we’ll know he’s serious. Until then, it’s more kayfabe from Trump.

You misinterpreted what President Trump wrote. He did not signal an immediate shutdown and seems to be publicly negotiating with Democrats that if they want something specially for their policy (infrastructure for urban areas for example), he will consider it in trade for the wall.

There’s no such thing as “perfect” border security. We don’t even have enough Military to seal-off the country’s borders.

The “Turtle” has already prepared a “CR” to fund the gov’t, and he’ll push it thru. POTUS can veto it, and I hope he does.
