When Ashley Bratcher took the leading role in Unplanned, she wasn't ambivalent about life -- but she wasn't exactly passionate about it either. Then came the revelation that turned her world upside down. Ashley, who was about to star in a movie about abortion, had almost been a victim of it.
Her emotional true story came tumbling out in interview on Fox & Friends Tuesday, giving the project a whole new meaning. And not just for Ashley. Like a lot of actresses, Bratcher had no idea who Abby Johnson was when she first auditioned to play her. "I was given just six pages. Six pages that ignited my curiosity... How could this incredibly [devoted] woman one day change her mind about everything she believed in? There had to be more to the story."
As a lot of pro-lifers know, Johnson, the former director of Planned Parenthood in Bryan, Texas stood in a clinic room on a fall day in 2009, watching the ultrasound of a baby who would never be born. As the doctor started to snuff out another life, Abby Johnson decided in that moment to change hers. After watching 22,000 unborn children die, the eight-year veteran of the abortion movement turned in her resignation. "I just thought I can't do this anymore, and it was just like a flash hit me. [A]nd I thought, that's it."

Thanks for sharing this story. I don’t know if I will get to see this movie simply because I doubt that any movie theater will be showing it and advertising will be minimal. I will have to try to keep up on it to see if it’s playing around me. If it is, I will go to see it.
As I heard the interview with Ainsley I thought about Hollywood. The Hollywood that always preaches to us about how evil the HUAC committee was and how brave those outed commies were who were blacklisted. I’m sure they clink their champagne glasses as they congratulate each other on how brave they all are. Yet there is a blacklist that goes on in Hollywood today. Why do I say this? Because this woman’s acting career is probably over by playing this part. Being brave in Hollywood nowdays amounts to having sex with Harvey Weinstein to get a part and then coming out years later saying you were forced to have sex with him.
We will probably never learn the true brave ones in Hollywood. The ones that make movies like this that we rarely if ever get to hear about. All of the actors and actresses who play these parts and get blacklisted from making any real money in Hollywood by getting in the big pictures.

This passage moved me to tears. I read each of the biographies and was astounded. Their lives really do reflect the plot of the film It's a Wonderful Life. We are grateful for the entertainers and sports figures, but we literally would not be where we are today without JohnPaul2, who freed millions by breaking the back of soviet communism in Eastern Europe, and Steve Jobs, whose free-spirited innovation drove the user-friendliness of Apple, allowing millions to enter the world of personal computing who would have been held back for decades by business-oriented IBM and Microsoft.
Both made mistakes as administrators of their organizations. But as champions of the spirit, both were giants. We have little doubt that JP2 went to his reward. And we may hope that Jobs' brokenness has also been healed by the Christ. Reportedly, his last words as he left this world from his sickbed were, "Wow! Oh, wow, oh, wow!"

Wow, do you have a link for either of those, especially Donald Trump? I’ve never run across that story. He is not the youngest of five, but the 3rd or 4th.

I’m afraid I’m not understanding your drift — those noted individuals cited in my post gave testimony that their mothers felt pressured to abort them, but instead gave birth to them. Are you saying that you have read somewhere that the mothers of Donald Trump and Mother Teresa also had considered aborting them? I think we should be clear about this.
Should be a great movie. The book was excellent.
James Woods has probably been blacklisted. He used to be a liberal, as far as I know, but came around during the 0b0z0 administration. He woke up, and I doubt that “woke” Hollyweird has given him any major roles since then.
Woods should thank the Lord that he made his money before becoming conservative.
