Personally, I have NEVER heard anyone here state that "The world needs more Canada." Of course, being an Albertan, I have a healthy distrust of Eastern Canada, though I did grow up in d'Ottawa. I would expect such claptrap to spew forth only from a civil servant type, an ideologically blinded socialist, or from Bébé Turd-owe, his/herself.
With the 46 year old male teenage girl in charge of this country, we are in ever worse shape with each passing day. While my roots are UEL, my ancestors having supported George William Frederick, rather than that Washington fellow, it may be high time for a revolution and/or succession from this country, or even perhaps, 'manifest destiny' to the north.
Are my fellow Canadians bright enough to toss comrade Peter Pan out on his arse, or are we destined for self destruction at the hands of Fidel's spawn?
Mr. Trump, you may well need to build a wall along the 49th parallel, in addition to the border on the South.

If Canada is not a country, then any Provence can become a US state.

Ditto on that last part. To the first part, let me post this omen from years back...

Bingo. I may live long enough to see the western provinces apply to the US as states.

Canada has never been a nation. It exists to prevent it from becoming American.
Large parts of it had to be bought off so they didnt fall into our hands. Quebec is still being paid off to not leave.
I’m amazed they’ve held on this long.

I haven’t heard that from anyone in my 25 or so years in Ontario—though where I’ve been, (6 years in Toronto and 19 in the boondocks of Renfrew County, two hours west of Ottawa) likely has something to do with it.
Mostly we need less of Ottawa and no Toronto. If someone in Europe needs more of them, they are welcome to them.

All my ancestors are from Ireland. The most recent arrival was in 1882.I am two generations removed from Europe. In spite of that fact I consider myself 100% American...and always have.If the US were to ever go to war with Ireland I'd be the first to enlist to fight...in the US Armed Forces.
But today we are a nation of hyphenated Americans.
If,by chance, the same can be said about Canada's recent history then I suspect that she, too, has ceased to be a nation...as we did in the late 60's/early 70's.
Of course the key culprit of our collapse was Saul Alinsky.Don't know if there are any Canadians who have equaled Alinsky's influence...and depravity.

If Canadians are in an identity crisis, maybe they should listen to more Gordon Lightfoot and Stan Rogers. Those two seemed to have an idea of what Canada should be about, unless my American ears heard them wrong.
