I voted for Trump. Now his wall may destroy my butterfly paradise.
The Republican party is abandoning the conservative principles I treasured.

Right now, in Mission, Tex., we dont worry about immigrants who crossed the border illegally or drug smugglers. We worry about having to defend our private property from seizure by the federal government.
I work at the National Butterfly Center which is along the U.S.-Mexico border documenting wildlife and leading educational tours. Many of our visitors are young students from the Rio Grande Valley. When they first arrive, some of the children are scared of everything, from the snakes to the pill bugs. Here, we can show them animals that roam free and teach them not to be afraid. We talk about how we planted native vines, shrubs and trees to attract some 240 species of butterflies, as well as dragonflies, grasshoppers and other insects. The bugs brought the birds including some you cant see anywhere else in America, like Green Jays and Chachalacas and from there, the bobcats and coyotes. We want to teach kids what it takes to create a home for all kinds of animals.
President Trumps new border wall which he has threatened to shut down the government to fund will teach them what it takes to destroy it.

In the idiots defense, he was probably used to voting for politicians. You know - the kind of people who make promises and never ever follow through.
He wasnt used to voting for a leader instead.
Author is such a whiny little.......
I like butterflies better than illegal aliens. I see a black and yellow butterfly here and the cool thing is that the caterpillar it comes from looks the same colors.
The butterfly center is putting on a poor poor pitiful me act to get the public on their side..... To intimidate and pressure the US Federales to paying them off. Of course they will be compensated but how much? Their operation will be moved a few yards and they will be paid off handsomely.
Awww. Poor baby. Is that evil orange man going to destroy your pretty little butterflies? All in the name of keeping violent invaders and drugs out of our country? Everyone KNOWS butterflies are more important because, after all, butterflies can’t POSSIBLY live anywhere except where Evil Orange Man wants to build the wall.
Butterflies are Free..
Move.
Your butterfly paradise may destroy my country.
I’ve been to Mission, TX.
She may *work* there but she likely lives in Presidio, Alpine or even Terlingua.
You would not believe how many “walled-in” neighborhoods there are in Presidio.
Been there. No school. Building is gutted and being rebuilt by private concerns/fuinding.
Students are bussed 40 miles to Presidio.
Somebody’s been spending too much time in the cocoon...
:: Right now, in Mission, Tex., we dont worry about immigrants who crossed the border illegally or drug smugglers. (from the story) ::
Then, why is there a Border Patrol check-point on the main highway between Mission and Alpine?
Its a guy. With a Latino name I might add.
Who could possibly believe that a butterfly could manage to FLY?? OVER A WALL?????
Only a RACIST, that’s who!
Orange man hate butterflies.
Orange man bad.
L
They can’t be series.
Yeah. Sure you did.
I pray that Trump will stand firm, and take this opportunity to shut down the gov’t then, to over haul the waste and mismanagement. There is no hurry to build the wall, but there is a hurry to turn this gov’t around.
Would be great that he shuts down the gov’t then gets rid of the various do nothing depts. and expenses. I mean no sacred cows. Privatize the post office and the others.
I think he can hardly wait for this.
In the meantime, there is a complete halt on Congress. In the end, Schumer would NOT agree to the 5 billion. Trump shuts down the gov’t, get the military to build the wall, and by Spring, this is all sorted out.
HE MUST ADDRESS THE PUBLIC IN A FIRESIDE CHAT.
Tell ya what, We’ll leave a gap, the only gap, in 3000 miles of wall at your pwecious National Butterfly Center.
Hope that works out for ya!
Your butterflies don’t come to the country to make babies and become citizens and reap the benefits of a country that can’t say no.
