(SPRINGFIELD, Mo.) A Missouri poacher has been ordered to repeatedly watch the movie Bambi as part of his sentence for illegally killing hundreds of deer.
The Springfield News-Leader reports that David Berry Jr. was ordered to watch the Disney classic at least once a month during his year-long jail sentence in what conservation agents are calling one of the largest deer poaching cases in state history.

The article says he cut the heads off and left the deer to rot. Details are slim. But it seems like he was having buck heads mounted for sale (my assumption).
how about Old Yeller?
I live in south central Missouri. We have hit 5 dear in 4 years.
The conservation department is always about 5 years behind.
They should be giving out tags to control the population about 5 years ago.
On our last 11 miles home after turning off 13 highway we see at least 15-20 deer nearly every day.
Theres not enough money by the time you have them mounted to make any money. He must have been keeping the skullls with the racks. They sell for around $50-100.

“Bambis mother killed “
Thanks for spoiling the ending!~
“Can he watch Bambi meets Godzilla”
Exactly!
“Can he watch Bambi meets Godzilla”?
Lol!
He got off easy... The judge could have sentenced him to watch all of Hillary’s campaign speeches over and over again.
Or hour after hour of Hillary’s cackle.
There’s usually some critter who will eat the carcass of another dead critter. It’s nature’s way.
Well, my bumper thanks him. :)
I suspect he was caught doing what some have been caught doing a long time ago in the UP of Michigan. He and his pals would go out and spotlight deer and shoot for trophy. Then the city slickers would purchase the trophies and brag about the big deer they shot up north.
Head mounts were fetching a pretty good price back then I understood. Bet the prices are really high now.
I agree, except I don’t care if they eat them.
My wife and I have hit three deer since moving to KY. I let a couple of locals hunt on my property. They’ve bagged some beauties. They gave me a lot of meat but frankly it’s only really good for hamburger or jerky. It’s all way too tough.
The headline begs the question, “how do they know he killed ‘hundreds’ of deer?” It then goes on to not explain it.
Deer are so numerous that as long as they utilize meat they should be issued a tag and given a medal.
The deer are heavily overpopulated in many areas. Im glad he shot a lot of em. There are still too many. The govts just mad that they didnt get the fees
HERE'S BAMBI
Thank you!
