Put this into the category of delusional thinking...
CNBC chief Washington Correspondent John Harwood with a well-known antipathy towards Republicans and President Donald Trump stated on Sunday on the MSNBC Weekends with Alex Witt that via what he claims he was told by a No Labels founder that it is possible that the Senate could convict Trump on impeachment charges. That would mean that even if every Democrat voted to convict, they would still need 20 Republicans to vote that way for the requisite two-thirds of the Senate.
Mark that up to a personal fantasy of Harwood especially considering and it is hard to imagine at worst arcane civil FEC violations not being laughed out of the Senate chamber as a reason to remove the President:

Democrats won’t even get all the Dem senators to vote for impeachment on this.
This, if it goes forward is just political theater for the radical D base...
Trump is not being removed from office over this nonsense.. the Dems are fools to try it.
If such a thing were to happen, if so many Republican senators voted to impeach Trump over these charges, it would mark the end of our government. No longer would would those who voted for Trump believe that our system represented them. No longer would we be willing to suspend disbelief and behave as of this were a government of the people and for the people. Nothing could restore our trust after that.

We are weeks away from the start of the 2020 election cycle. The Muller hunting expedition will not score any direct hits, and may lose its momentum if the judge in the Flynn case declares prosecution misconduct. The dems can scream and throw poo around the room, but so far they don’t have a case for impeachment.
Don’t kid yourself, Rubio, McCain, Murkowsky and Hoeven were re-elected after they voted for amnesty in 2013.
Graham and Alexander also voted for amnesty in 2013, 2006 and 2007 and will probably be re-elected.
There are plenty of Bush League Republicans who would love to get rid of Trump so they can get back to importing cheap labor.

It startles me not just a little bit, that a lot of Americans put a woman so hypocritical, so mendacious and in my view, so power hungry, they voted her back in as the Democrat Speaker. Nancy Pelosi IS the Deep State. Ms. Pelosi is a politician in spades...she, like most politicians, lies and controls. President Trump on the other hand, is controlled by no one making Ms. Pelosi and her fellow politicians furious...the media also want politicians in power. President Trump deals/leads...he doesn't play games political or otherwise.
Impeachment is PURELY politics... it has NOTHING to do with the law...
You can be impeached for anything and if the senate convicts you are removed...
Could literally be, President called someone a name.. if the house charges him and confirms the articles, and then the senate convicts, a president is removed.. has NOTHING to do with whether the act convicted of is illegal..
