More Than 300 Local Officials From 40 States Call For Green New Deal, End Of Fossil Fuels
Huffington Post ^ | 12/15/18 | Alexander C. Kaufman

In a little over a month, the so-called Green New Deal has won endorsements from more than three dozen sitting or incoming federal lawmakers as Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) makes a high-profile bid to shift debate over climate change toward policy on the scale of the crisis.

On Friday, the effort got a boost from 311 state and local officials.

Forty-four mayors, 63 county and state legislators and 116 city council members were among the officials from 40 states ― including some top oil and gas producers ― who signed an open letter issuing a sweeping, full-throated call for the phaseout of fossil fuels and adoption of Green New Deal-style climate policies.

Why don't radical leftists show us all how they would end capitalism by giving up their cars, mansions, and vacations taken on airplanes? I see no evidence of that happening anywhere.

“Forty-four mayors, 63 county and state legislators and 116 city council members” means doodly-squat, to use a technical term.

What we have here is 223 state and local officials who have been brainwashed into the Cult of Anthropogenic Climate Change. That anyone thinks we should make policy on what they think is foolish.

Perhaps we could have a state volunteer to show us how? A 100% ban on oil, gas, coal in all it’s forms. Ban everything that uses oil, gas or coal in any way.

I’m sure when we see utopia demonstrated for, say 5 years, the number of people moving into this state would make 100% adaption in the rest of the US unstoppable.

We live in an era where telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

Goebbels would have agreed.

Now that winter is approaching let's see how serious they are.

Cut off their power.

Forty-four mayors, 63 county and state legislators and 116 city council members

They should put their beliefs into action.

Eliminate fossil fuels for their jurisdictions.

Let their towns, cities, counties and states do without fossil fuels and show the future to the rest of us.

Let their citizens be the first to benefit from their grand ideas.

Lead the way - show us how it is done.

It is a tactic of the left to create supposed “grass root”
support for their policies.

Cadre sewn into communities call for action and call
the loudest and most often. It worked with the kulaks
and collectivism,it’s just been up dated.

If a person has paid attention to socialism through out
it’s history, it becomes quite recognizable when put into
practice. It has been called the Delphi principle and is
used to direct a mass of people to some desired end.

Yeah, I was thinking, this group is what % of the total? There are surely more felons as a % of the general population.

The “green” agenda is a goldmine for corruption and graft for petty officials.

The AGW climate change agenda is to undermine capitalism, nationalism and centralize economic power in world government. The elite prosper. Workers suffer. Not complicate.

Xcel Energy just announced that they will be 100% renewable by 2050. This could lead to quite a disparity between blue/red state electricity rates.

Although the feds having such power is arguably a good idea, patriots are reminded the following.

The states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the unconstitutionally big federal government the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for environmental protections purposes.

Also, since Democrats are predictably going to face as much resistance with unconstitutional Green New Deal because of gridlocked Congress as Pres. Trump has had with his supporters’ border wall, the Green New Deal amounts to Democrats politicking for 2020 imo.

Insights welcome.

2030? Most of the politicians involved will have moved on and intend to be 'SHOCKED' and 'DISMAYED' at the failure and voter distress. Las Vegas, that demure and laid-back town, will be unaffected because it brings big revenue and heavy union voting! Results, the citizens will bear the burden, just like always. Those voting 'D'umb never seem to connect the dots!

At least they are admitting, albeit obliquely, that the original “New Deal” wasn’t anything other than a naked grab of unconstitutional power by the Federal government.
