Tampons and Kotex pads make great battle dressings.
They are absorbent, sterile, soak up blood damn good, come in individual sterile packets, easy to pack a lot of them.
And they are a hell of a lot cheaper than store bought bandages, if you can even find dressings big enough for large serious wounds.
PS: Tampons are great for plugging bullet entrance wounds, need the Kotex “large pads” for the exit wound.
