Australia recognizes west Jerusalem as Israel’s capital
Associated Press ^ | December 15, 2018

Australia has decided to formally recognize west Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, but won’t move its embassy until there’s a peace settlement between Israel and the Palestinians, Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced Saturday.

Morrison said in a speech that Australia would recognize east Jerusalem as Palestine’s capital only after a settlement has been reached on a two-state solution. The Australian Embassy won’t be moved from Tel Aviv until such a time, he said.

While the embassy move is delayed, Morrison said his government would establish a defense and trade office in Jerusalem and would also start looking for an appropriate site for the embassy.

“The Australian government has decided that Australia now recognizes west Jerusalem, as the seat of the Knesset and many of the institutions of government, is the capital of Israel,” Morrison said.

He said the decision respects both a commitment to a two-state solution and long-standing respect for relevant U.N. Security Council resolutions.

Australia becomes the third country to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, following the U.S. and Guatemala.

Unlike its predecessors, however, Australia recognized only the western part of the city. The move, therefore, is unlikely to please either side entirely. …

Funny that AP does not mention that this is the same thing as what Russia did, and before Trump recognizing the entire city as Israel’s capital. (They fail to mention Russia at all too. I smell collusion with Russia on AP’s part, and Morrison’s part as well.)

Solomon proved that cutting the baby in half was a bad idea.

I would tell them to take their embassy out of the country.

A country has a right to declare its capitol, and the Fakestinians never had a country except Jordan.

IE, they won't move the Embassy. What a crock.

Jordan is not theirs either. Zuheir Mohsen admitted that in that 1977 interview when he also confessed the nonexistence of the “Palestinian people”, who are a mix of Egyptian and Iraqi Arabs for the vast majority of them. He always referred to Israel alone as “Palestine” and never named Jordan as “Palestine”.

80 percent of Jordanians identify themselves as Pallies, not
Hashemites. Trans Jordan got 75 percent of the partition land, the rest went to Israel. Lots of land left to be settled inside Jordan, I think Israel should push the Pallies out since the Peace Process was a failure and every day Israelis are getting murdered by Pallies.

It's almost a step in the almost-right direction.

Prime Minister Morrison needs to talk to someone knowledgeable & get his head screwed on straight. “Palestinians” will never uphold any “peace settlement” How many times has that been tried?

They don’t recognize Jordan as “Palestine”.

And it’s not possible for that high of percentage to be “Palestinians”, who do not exist anyway. Jordan’s population is close to 10 million, and the highest estimates for a “Palestinian” population there are 2 million.

Halfway measures avail us nothing. Half-assed compromises like this one are pretty meaningless. Sad to see OZ go chicken.

When even Australia’s Labor Party criticizes Morrison for delaying an embassy move on the basis he cited, you know it’s bad.

And recognizing East Jerusalem (which contains the Old City, utterly central to the Jewish State) as the capital of “Palestine” is a declaration of war on Israel anyhow.

Not to mention, the Temple Mount is in “East” Jerusalem. And the Gihon Spring. And the excavations that have revealed King David’s Palace, Hezekiah’s Tunnel, several bullæ of high officials of Judah as mentioned in the Bible, and so on.

This is not a halfway measure; this is an open siding with the “Palestinians”.

In my opinion, this was more a slap in the face of Israel, by an either historically illiterate Australian government, or an anti-semetiic/anti-Israel Australian government, rooted in a willful lack of knowledge about who the real Palestinians are, ie - Iraqi/Egyptians who had derived from modern day Jordan. The same is true for all other governments which are realizing the new strategy of using their Embassy or consulate, or just a recognition, as a weapon to formally try to divide Jerusalem, or neutralize and arrest Israeli sovereignty over the city. Western governments are following the anti-Israel strategy and goal utilized by Soviet Russia and Russia to this day.

The Russians did precisely this, years ago. They saw a way to manipulate and weaponize diplomacy against Israel, by where they placed their Embassy, and how it would be used.

Even the name “Palestinian” cannot be historically attributed or segregated down to the modern day Iraqi/Egyptian mixed group of people, as the name “Palestine” was derived by the Romans, who in an attempt to mock the Jews who were in the land of Israel, (after the Romans took and destroyed Jerusalem), renamed the land to what we call “Palestine” today. The Romans literally renamed the land after their word for “Philistines”, knowing Israel had once conquered the Phiistines! For the Romans, it was both “psychological warfare” and a mockery of Israel and the Jews. The Romans did not attribute this name to a future mixed Iraqi/Egyptian group of people almost entirely from the area of what we call Jordan today. This is just supreme historical ignorance and stupid. The countries and borders we have today, did not exist when the Romans deliberately renamed the area the Jews lived in after an Israeli conquered enemy.

Many of the “Palestinian” families in Israel today, historically came from and belonged to, the organization called the “PLO” (Palestinian Liberation Organization) in Jordan, who were rounded up and expelled by the king of Jordan, after the PLO carried out multiple coup attempts against the king. One of the attempted coup attacks, nearly killed the royal family and king, while they were at a race track.

It’s not the main point here, but it should be pointed out, Moscow has long supported the PLO, going so far as to deny an Israeli Embassy in Moscow for decades, while the PLO were provided an Embassy/Consulate, and elevated in status by the socialist government in Moscow. Even when I left Moscow, after seven years there, in 1998 there was still no Israeli Embassy, and the PLO’s was very active. Regarding modern Russia, while some still remain, most Jews have left Russia, as there has been a consistent hatred of the Jews, going back for centuries.

In a historical nutshell, as a reaction, (and some argue strategy), some estimates put the actual number of “PLO palestinians” rounded up, and expelled from Jordan close to two million. Some estimates are higher. The Jordanian army and police were given the order, and rounded up almost two million. When rounded up and placed into very crude “refugee camps” to be expelled, SA, Syria, and Iraq placed soldiers on their borders, to keep the “PLO” oriented “Palestinians” out, while Egypt and Turkey also refused to consider taking even a small fraction of them in. Each of these nation’s quickly voted for the UN resolution to economically sanction/block off trade with Israel, if Israel did not take the “PLO Palestinians”can.

This created an extreme humanitarian crisis. Rather than coming up with an alternative solution, the UN and western industrial nation’s, (including the US), passed a resolution threatening Israel with total economic sanctions/blockade if Israel did not take the “PLO Palestinians” from Jordan.

There was a brief standoff with Israel, but Israel eventually capitulated, and let them in.

For decades, these “PLO oriented palestinians”, once expelled from Jordan, have been expanding in population, seized all anti-Israel narratives, provided the left-wing propaganda used against Israel in the west and around the world, and attacked and sought the destruction of Israel.

The idea today, that Jerusalem should essentially be taken and controlled by the UN, or manipulated and weaponized by foreign governments to reduce Israeli sovereignty of Jerusalem, witb the intent of utilizing the lie of a “Palestinian” group of people, to divide the city Jerusalem from Israel, which also keeps Israel from being able to defend it, actually exposes the global hatred of Israel.

That’s big of them. Now I guess someone should recognize Australia’s capital as Canberra or it won’t be legit. Since when does another country get to dictate the capital of a sovereign country? Piss weak, Australia. I expected more of you.

This is a big nothingburger. Go away and get some guts,
