From an article in the Washington Post the other day:
Tucker Carlson says Trump is not capable and hasnt kept his promises

Vanity:
"Carlson said he cannot stand Trumps self-aggrandizement and boasting.'

Speaking as one who will vote for and heavily support DJT in the future, one thing must be said.
The President will have a much more difficult time winning a second term if he doesn't make some adjustments that are addressed in the quoted remark above.
His never ending BOASTING is losing him millions of votes.
To quickly change that (loss of votes) is quite simple.
Examples: 1. Instead of saying "I WON this ...." he should always say, WE won this for the country" .... 2. "TOGETHER WE created the strongest economy for our country and its people" etc., etc.

I know that there are many here who respond by saying , "he has to tweet, he has to get his news out, the MSM won't". That is true, let him tweet all he wants, but the problem is simply the wording of the tweets and all his remarks concerning his accomplishments.
He must REMOVE the word "I" when talking about accomplishments. Everyone knows he's the center of the successful achievement.
If his constant boasting bothers even me, I can see how gross it is to those who have doubts about him to begin with.
(Women, as a rule, do not like men who find the need to brag after they have succeeded at something.)
If D.J.T. wants a second term he has to get rid of the word "I", and speak of his accomplishments for the country ...NOT AS "WINS" but as "achievements or successful efforts" for the good people of America.
No. It "bothers" him.
Those are two different things.
And it's a small part of what he said.
His main point was that constant boasting will hurt Trump with voters.
It very well could.
You don't need a crystal ball to see that.
A lot of stories are designed to provoke a response and don't really have much to do with what people actually say.
I liked tucker on Fox... did not like the libs he had on and got into a loud argument with them.
My view of him is now changed (if this turns out to be true)... anyone who does not appreciate Trump, has to do so on the basis of just plain silly things they find fault with. If the person can’t look beyond his own pickadillies and appreciate the good Trump is doing... he’s not too smart and too uppity to be of any good.
I sometimes watch The Five... depends.. and then don’t care for anything till tucker.. which was okay if I missed it... then watch Hannity as long as he hits on the investigations ... tucker is now out ... I have better things to do than to be entertained by anyone who does not back our President.

I hear you.
OAN is a great choice for news. "The Tipping Point" and "The Daily Ledger" are two of their best shows.
It very well could.

Anyhow, let's hope he is able to keep his fabulously gruff, effective, and honest self, yet at the same time try to cut down on the unneeded bragging and name calling that offends the voters whom he will need in 2020.
When I see Trump with members of this cabinet and others he is always saying you have done a great job..not me me like Obama..
`If he did not tweet or boast all you would here is the media saying Trump sucks..
The problem is you need a Trump like president for thirty years straight to make a difference...
Thank you, that is very illuminating.
These threads are off-putting. I agree with you and Tucker that Trumps braggadocio is unpleasant and facepalm inducing. I also agree with the posters who say that this is part of Trump and he is too old to change his personality at this point. Even if it hurts his goals.
But it is a bit nauseating to see all the FReepers who worship the President to such an extent that they cant recognize any faults at all.
Part of Trumps ego, his confidence to dare to try, is what makes him heroic in trying to save our constitution/country. But his bragging and sensitivity to insult is not worth defending.
A difference of opinion doth not a sycophant make.
Maybe as a New Yorker I just see it as part of his shtick, a little showmanship or patter. Basically irrelevant but necessary because mo one else is telling the truth about his accomplishments and people need to know.
I follow no one blindly but this is not the issue that where I diverge from POTUS. He is not conservative enough for me in some areas and more open to DACA than I. I am content to take the good with the parts I am not in complete agreement with like ethanol.

I totally agree. (Sometimes I tell my wife that this 72 year old would like to have fifteen minutes with DJT to attempt to persuade him to "cool it" just a little.
He wants to win in 2020. I don't think he can if he doesn't (see post # 1.)
******
ps--- Maybe you and I can go together and give him the scoop.
:-)

Unfortunately that seems true.
I love half of his personality, because its much like my dad. My dad didnt have any braggadocio, but he did care about people and was curious about people like Trump is, comfortable with the CEO and the janitor, asking questions about each, friendly and generous. My dad wasnt about fame or gold trimmings like Trump though. No buildings would have ever borne his name even if dad had been a billionaire.
Im sure his daughter tries. I dont think even you and I,persuasive though we may be, can have much effect.
Example in point: Melania and Ivanka are both fashionable, beautiful women. You dont think, when he was on tv every week, they didnt let him know that apricot fluff flowing 5 inches beyond his forehead wasnt flattering? That his tanning service went too orange on their tone, and the huge goggles he must have worn when being airbrushed made him look like a raccoon? They told him, maybe entreated him, but he didnt care. That is who he is, like it or not.
I hope hes successful, for our sake. But there isnt much subtlety or note taking on his part.
People are curious mixtures, each one unique. Hearing about your Dad put a smile on my face.
Thanks. Now I have the smile. He died almost 3 years ago. Everyone who knew him loved him.
I pray each day for this country and this great and tormented President.
I still believe that there are some huge and welcome surprises coming soon.
We certainly need them.
_______
He's got more on them than they have on him ..... just wait.
Timing is everything.
Agreed.
HE is just letting them hang themselves....the problem is only news junkies know what is happening....
Everybody else is to busy working and raising there kids..
“If you want an explanation, let me know. I’m a crappy typist.”
Hey, man, if you want to write an opus to me, feel free to do so. Be forewarned, though, that it’s Saturday night and I might be in my cups and might not respond till next Friday.
Cheers.
Let Trump be Trump! He doesn't even listen to/considers everything his favorite child, nor Melania have to say and neither one of them are right about such things as his TWEETS.
Having grown up knowing pols on local, state, and national level, I have NEVER been "in awe" nor "worship" a single one of them.
Re his "orange" color...the MSM, in toto, do that. He doesn't look orange in real life.
Is Trump's style "brash"? Yes it is; thank GOD!
So were many other presidents before him!
You've both just been lulled by RECENT, lousy presidents' speaking styles.
Teddy Roosevelt had a high, sort of squeaky voice, but he BELLOWED and was NOT a "smooth talker", for but one example.
Go watch Mr. Nixon, when he was VEEP, giving the "CHECKERS SPEECH"!
Adlai Stevenson was a smoooooooooooooooooooooooth talker, who lulled and mesmerized his listeners, who thought that his speeches were "brilliant"; however, when those same speeches were published in a book, those same people after reading them, found those speeches to be banal, inane, and plain old STUPID!
And Adlai lost, both times he ran against Ike! LOL
