When the Democrats take over the U.S. House of Representatives in three weeks, their first order of business is expected to be a wide-ranging bill about political corruption, voter disenfranchisement and cleaning up campaign finance.
An outline of the bill, titled H.R. 1, shows it would require presidential candidates to disclose their tax returns, which Trump has refused to do despite decades of precedent.
The bill calls for automatic, early and online national voter registration, as well as an end to partisan gerrymandering of House voting districts, the practice of changing electoral district boundaries to favor a party.
Members of Congress would be barred from serving on the boards of for-profit corporations under the bill. It would also overhaul the U.S. Office of Government Ethics, create a new ethical code for the U.S. Supreme Court and strengthen oversight of lobbyists and foreign agents.
Political groups would have to disclose their donors. The largely ineffective Federal Election Commission would be overhauled. Disclosure rules for digital political ads would be harmonized with rules for broadcast ads.

Wanna clean up DC: Ask ever Rep and Sen if he/she is party to any non-disclosure agreements. A refusal to answer should be considered an admission. Then hound any and all to resign.
So they can do all this crap but if the senate doesn’t take it up, it’s just for show, right?

The House can pass silly bills if they choose, but they won’t become law. The President will defend his Constitutional executive powers. The House will be reminded that the responsibility for organizing and conducting elections rest with the states and the House will keep their noses out of affairs that do not control.
They had a chance to make constructive, positive improvements but spent their time moving paper around waiting for the democrats to take back the majority.
None of these bill will pass! Senate or get signed by trump.
Can you think of anyone who would know better the things that need cleaning up?

Had the House taken up voter fraud, it would not be changing hands.
It’s not going anywhere. In fact they really won’t want half of what they put in the bill. Kind of like the Republicans doing bills they knew weren’t going anywhere when they were not in power, and when they got the power that voted opposite of what they had voted previously. Kabuki theater, pure & simple.
Ditto. Ryan has inflicted as much damage to our country as Obama.
