They didn’t call him Neutron Jack for no reason. I know a guy who once worked for GE, who now, if there’s another brand of light bulb on the shelf will buy it over GE, no matter who it is. And only maybe 10% personal feelings toward GE, it’s actually 90% that, having seen the way GE manages things, if someone else makes a light bulb, it HAS to be better.
Last I saw GE was trying to dump the light bulb business but couldn’t find a buyer. Just Googled. Looks like they’ve found a buyer for the division, but the buyer didn’t want the consumer lighting unit. So it’s still available if someone has a few nickles rattling around in their pocket.
