University of Washington atmospheric scientist Cliff Mass has been called plenty of names, including climate “denier,” but it wasn’t until he came out against the state’s proposed carbon tax last month that he was accused of being a racist.
Since then, Mr. Mass said he has been upbraided by the university’s diversity dean and subjected to a faculty “inquisition,” events that have stoked alarm about the threat posed by campus climate-change activism to academic freedom.
“I’m really worried about the intolerance that has developed at the university,” Mr. Mass told The Washington Times. “It’s really a minority of graduate students and just one or two faculty that are the real activists. I don’t want to make it seem like everybody’s like this, they’re not. But it’s poisoning the place, the fact that you’ve got to watch your step here.”
The hubbub began when he ran on his blog an Oct. 14 post against Washington State Initiative 1631, arguing that the proposed carbon tax would funnel millions to special interests, including labor, tribal governments and social-justice groups, which he illustrated with a photo of pigs at a trough.

I abhor the corruption of the term that is implicit in this misuse of ‘denier’, a misuse that equates those that DENY the scope and utter barbarity of the Holocaust with those that DISPUTE the effects of climate change and the proposed remedies. On one hand those that deny the Holocaust are disputing the series of actions by the German State and its allies that resulted in the savage deaths of about 6 million prisoners for Judaism, political crimes & others.
Those that dispute means and actions of climate change proponents, have yet to cause a single death nor imprison a single person. Yet these same climate change proponents have usurp ‘denier’ to apply it pejoratively against their opponents, knowing that its use taints those opponents. This is slander and should be libelous slander and thrown back vigorously in their faces whenever used!

University of Washington is a public university using funds from both state and Federal taxpayers. The socialist of which you write will suffer no monetary or other damages if this tenured professor is forced to leave, the burden will come from the taxpayers. A better solution would be for the offending liars and SJWs to be personally made liable for their crimes and ordered to pay for their crimes out of their own pockets!

The prof is not even a global warming denier. He simply is saying that the proposed carbon tax would be an ineffective boondoggle that would siphon off lots of money to environmental groups. For saying that, he has to be censored and humiliated. The enviro-Leftists really are totalitarians.
