The search for President Trump's next chief-of-staff continues, but we're getting closer to a decision.
Speaking at the White House Thursday afternoon, President Trump said he has narrowed down his choices.

During an interview with Fox News, President Trump said he is still open to ideas about who should replace General John Kelly, but that he's looking for someone who "thinks like him."
"I want someone that's strong but I want someone that thinks like I do. It's my vision, it is my vision after all. At the same time I'm open to ideas," Trump said.

Yesterday it was announced House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows is no longer being considered.
"Congressman Mark Meadows is a great friend to President Trump and is doing an incredible job in Congress. The President told him we need him in Congress so he can continue the great work he is doing there," White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is also in the running for the job.
He needs a person that agrees with his vision instead of someone constantly telling him why he can't do something.
May I suggest Atilla the Hun?
5.56mm
Agreed! Someone very much like either Attila the Hun or Genghis Khan!
That would piss the rats off. He should go for it.
Think about it.
LOL! Perfect.
“And Saint Atilla held aloft the Holy Hand Grenade, and said, ‘Bless Thou O LORD this, Thine Holy Hand Grenade, that with it Thou mayest blow Thine enemies into tiny bits. Amen.”
No relative period
Jerusalem Post has a story up saying Trump’s advisers suggesting Kushner.
A governor would be good. Meadows hasn’t accomplished much, doubt he has the gravitas to carry out the job. In the end, he needs to pick a friend, someone he can trust.
Are you on drugs? North?! Might as well pick Palin.
Might be a great choice and would drive them crazy. Pardon him and hire him.
Apparently Kushner is the front runner? Please no. Please no.
We are looking for a Chief of Staff, what are you looking for? I see you suggested a governor would be good? Who did you have in mind, Kasich? Governors have a tendency to think they are the executive. A military man like North has the discipline and understands the chain of command and who is boss. He is probably too old now, I did not realize he is 75. People are talking about Gingrich, but he's the same age.
Newt is a loose cannon. Never go Full Newt.
Bongino is a good guy but doesn’t strike me as bright enough.
Rogers is the one to choose.
excellent
Anyway, Trump seriously needs someone he knows, someone he trusts, someone who can help him. And, yes, someone that staff can respect.
I wonder if any of media or our speculation will be remotely correct?
I second that "Awww, hell no!"
Chris Christie has too much baggage and is hardly someone who thinks like President Trump. He screwed-up the transition period beyond comprehension. He IS politically connected but to all the wrong people.
Find him a retired Navy chief or gunnery sergeant. They know how to lead men and know who is the boss: the guy who got elected. They can delicately, predictably tell that congressman or bureaucrat that they are SOL seeing the president that day because the boss says so.
OK, I thought about it. On what grounds?
Relieved that Mark Meadows stays in Congress. Congress can spare zero conservatives.
