A married mother of two and meteorologist for Fox 2 Detroit died by suicide, the station said Thursday.
Jessica Starr, 35, who lived in Novi, Michigan, is survived by her husband, Dan, and her two children, a 5-year-old son named Noah, and a 3-year-old daughter named Riley, the Springfield News-Sun reported. The station did not provide more details about her death.

Prior to her death, Starr spoke out publicly about her recovery from Lasik surgery, which she had done in October. She was out of work for several weeks and struggled with dry eye following the procedure, reported the Detroit Free Press.
Starr posted a video on her Facebook page on Nov. 13 explaining her absence. She announced that she was back at work but still in the recovery process and dealing with blurry vision.

When it comes to human behavior rarely is the root cause the most obvious thing.
Whatever was going on in this woman’s mind had to be very painful.
Thank you.
I should be one of the happiest people on earth then.
Same here.
Best flex spending money I ever spent.
I’ve had too many dreams about losing my vision.
With Lasik, I was free of the shackles called glasses and contacts since I got stuck with about 3rd grade.
If only colorblindness and my inherently weak eye muscles could be fixed....
I’m thankful for the clear vision.
You’re welcome.
What a tragedy for you and your family. I hope things have improved for you all over the years.
Sorry for your loss, Steve.
“He said the Holidays is the biggest time of year for suicides. Especially men. For some reason the holidays causes deep depression because of past failures. Divorce, etc”
it’s the loneliness.
My wife was colorblind, and had surgery to correct it.
The only side effect she has is at night she has a problem with glare.
Steve, I didn’t know. That’s just terrible, and I’m so sorry. I will keep you and your family in my prayers through Advent and Christmas.

The lasik folks say surgery can not correct colorblindness.
If there was surgery to correct being colorblind, I’d be extremely interested.
Mine is just enough to cause me to flunk the number and dot test on one of the numbers. I’d could almost see it but I’d probably have a stroke forcing a result.
She hung herself.

She takes some kind of vitamins, not sure what AREDS2 are. The MD hasn’t progressed for a while now, for which we’re thankful.
“Hanged.”
You are in my prayers this holiday season... may you find comfort and love again
Very glad you had such good results. I ended up with good distance vision in both eyes, but I’ll always need glasses to read. The doctor says the new lenses might eventually get protein deposits that can be removed with a laser, but no sign of that yet after more than 10 years.
Really makes you appreciate eyesight, doesn’t it?
