Why did he ask for them? And why did Flynn’s lawyers insist on mentioning them in their sentencing document?
They didn’t want to bring down General Flynn because he worked for Donald Trump. They wanted to bring him down because he understands Islamic terror, and the Deep State spent the last 8 years (maybe more) bolstering Islamic radicalism in Egypt, Iran, and elsewhere.

Flynn’s lawyers mentioned it because they are hoping that the case gets tossed and the prosecution gets read the riot act. But Judge Sullivan probably will just use them to add weight to his decision to not sentence Flynn to anything. However Sullivan does have a history of punishing rogue prosecutors so there’s a longshot that he could do something ugly to the FBI and Mueller. But that’s a longshot and people who want that will most likely be disappointed. I hope I’m wrong.

No that is not going to happen with this judge. He will get the 302’s or somebody will be held in contempt. Also he would not be asking for them if he did not suspect that person or persons in the DoJ and FBI had acted unethically. He has had major run in with DoJ lawyers in the Sen.Ted Stevens case in which he vacated the guilty verdict and one of the DoJ lawyers committed suicide. This judge is a Dem but he is a straight shooter.
the FBI guys are supposed to write their impressions after they interview a subject. 302’s. Now we learn that they were written 7 months later?? Sounds like they trashed the first copies and made up the next ones..

Nunes was decent but we one heck of a lot more from our leaders on this, they should be raising absolute holy hell.
He says correctly that Grassley has been on this for a year, but how on earth, with Rs supposedly leading both branches of Congress as well as the exec. branch, has DOJ and FBI and Mueller been allowed to stall on all of these issues for most of the past TWO years??? It is ridiculous that we are reduced to Rep. Nunes in Dec. 2018 saying that pubbies on Capitol Hill are “frustrated”.....

Welllll the official 302 as submitted is not the immediate handwritten notes but an official memorandum sometime after the fact, so they are probably all typed and revised/edited. Normally they are supposed to be submitted withing days of the interview.
Submitting them SEVEN months later would be extremely sloppy at best, allowing all sorts of possible memory issues in what was supposed to be a contemporaneous record. But also, there is the obvious likelihood that this particular 302 has been sculpted to Strzok/McCabe purposes against Flynn. I think that has been indicated pretty specifically in all the stuff that came out from Strzok and Page.

That’s definitely a problem for the FBI and Mueller and could give Sullivan an excuse for tossing the case and sanctioning the prosecution. I just don’t expect anything resembling justice from the courts. They tend to follow procedure far more than they render justice. Justice is for movies and our dreams.

Yes and no, Judge Sullivan did toss the conviction of Sen. Ted Stevens back in 2009, excoriating the prosecutors and demanding an investigation of prosecutorial misconduct (which of course went nowhere with the vile Holder Dept of Justice).
But if Sullivan were to do roughly the same thing now, tossing Flynn’s plea agreement and throwing out the case with a strong rebuke to the Mueller team, it could give Team Trump some valuable ammunition at last.
