How about ethanol...hell cut every subsidy... better yet get rid of everything..that will kill the deep state..
My wife is from China, I have been in Beijing several times with her. There are millions of electric vehicles in use there, everything from scooters to busses. China built many power plants to supply the required electricity. The air pollution there is so bad that you think you are in the middle of a forest fire.
should end - but they won’t
A former co-worker had a Toyota Prius, last year she was driving it up to Maine and the thing caught on fire, luckily everyone got out of the car, but the sucker went up into a giant ball of flames, nothing was left, it was just a piece of charcoal in the road. She recorded it all on her cell phone.
For whatever “green house gases, carbon or whatever” she was reducing was put back just by having the stupid thing burst into flames. It was only a couple years old, it polluted more then my aging Dodge pick up truck with a v8 engine did since it was made.
End all these ridiculous subsidies.
Subsidies are just a vehicle for political payoffs. Shouldve ended after Solyndra.
GET THE ETHANOL OUT of pure gas....
as I always ask when I pull up to a parking space that has an electric car charge station - “Where is my free gasoline?” Then add to that they are not paying any road usage taxes (as they are charged as a tax on gallons of gas or diesel).
Toyota has a hydrogen car out.
Water exhaust.
Yeah like decades ago
If they can’t get it right after like 190 years it will never happen
Production Tax Credits are what is killing coal and nuclear is insane.
Soon one wind generator will kill a whooping crane.
That will put the left in a death circle.
If you can afford a Tesla, you don’t need a subsidy (tax break) from me.
Kill the ethanol and sell the corn to famine regions.
While were at it, get rid of those wind eyesores that kill birds by the thousands. And also the solar plants that mine the sky with hot spots that incinerate birds in flight.
>>>The decision comes after General Motors the beneficiary of $2,500-$7,000 tax credits for those who buy GM’s plug-in cars, not to mention two separate corporate tax cuts decided to close five North American plants, leaving 14,700 workers without jobs. The move infuriated Trump.
Verizon just announced today that they are going to lay off 10,000. Should they be prevented from participating in the next spectrum auction?
Not to mention the subsidy EV owners receive by not paying liquid fuels taxes...literally taking a free ride on the infrastructure the rest of us pay for.
But I want to pay for rich people’s cars!
The honest truth is ending subsidies would be the best thing that ever happened to electric cars. The market is the most efficient laboratory. Wed have ones that make sense or not at all. Its this halfway stuff thats a killer.
If an electric car were as cheap as my truck, would drive 500 miles and could recharge in ten minutes I would buy it.
It will not do any of the above. It is an economic aberration driven by government subsidies. Electrics perhaps will have a place in short trips but you will still need that gasoline or diesel fueled vehicle for long trips. Relative to short trips, it must be competitive without subsides or it is economic garbage. One must always remember that 63% of all our electricity is generated by carbon sourced fuel. That electric car is not carbon neutral. Most of these electric cars are light of weight to achieve modest ranges least their batteries run out of electrons.
In a head to head competition of equal weights and towing capacity they are just as energy consuming in relationship to carbon emissions. Electric cars are an environmental fraud subsidized by our tax dollars.
