Wise to spend extra on good footwear. I do - it makes my wife wince occasionally - but cheap shoes hurt my feet. Name brand? I guess so, but it’s not vanity, it’s practicality.
I plan on using my feet for a long time and they need to last!
I spend the most on my work boots-I wear them every day, all year so I buy the ones with steel toes-like Northland, Brazos, etc. My other boots are not as expensive, but I don’t wear them to work, either. I do buy cheap summer sandals for going out.
I do expensive shoes for running. I’m a runner, and I don’t want to brutalize my feet.
Everything else is middle-of-the-road expense or cheap.
